We are back on the road! And here's the culprit - The "common" issue apparently. I didn't take loads of photos as it was a messy job; but this ones enough. Cost me just under £60 in total and a few hours work. £33 + £5 postage for the special tool to align and remove the pump. £21.25 inc...

Yes - There was a small puddle under the car where it had been parked before I took the trip. I had noticed the puddle, however there was often a puddle under the car recently due to using the air-con in the warm weather... so I thought noting of it. Looks like it had probably been leaking for...

And it's back to repairs... Seems my High Pressure Fuel Pump has had enough of pumping fuel to the injectors and it wants to pump it onto the floor instead! Special tool and Bosch seal kit ordered... Joy Joy :) Rob

Completely agree :) Any vehicle with Xenon/LED conversions fitted to a standard halogen lamp unit should fail MOT - as regs state, if fitted, they are required to have self leveling and headlamp cleaning systems. The LED bulbs I trialed did give a much better light output than any of the...

It's been a little while... Apologies! I hope everyone's keeping well and your A/C is cooool :) (Except for today - today I hope you remembered umbrellas!) So I've had a few small but costly issues with the Freelander, which slowed some progress - I completely lost clutch disengagement. I was...

Hahaha you are like a kid at Christmas! ;) The sound deadening wasn't actually mine, it was one of the other chaps... if you have a flick back through the thread you will find what was posted. I'm not sure if LED bulbs in a standard headlight is actually a good idea anymore... I'm still...

Currently I have plenty of power and can also produce lots of black smoke if I turn up my Synergy, so I'd guess my injectors are still up to the job and there isn't any point in upgrading to the Auto injectors... ?

Oh wow... very nice! OK, we need to talk ;) Looks as though some of the routes I've gone down/am planning on going down, you're already there - Re-trim, most of the engine mods etc... What was the reason for changing the fuel injectors to the "Auto" type? Thanks for your input :) Rob

I was thinking about this ;) He's definitely capable of making the domed insert. The questionable bit is that the rear quarter badges are a domed sticker inset into a plastic housing. On the standard badges this is silver, on mine it's black. I'll see if I can find the old badges I removed and...

Yep those were the ones! Hmm... interesting... I noticed the clear topcoat on mine was ever so slightly yellowed, but only if you look closely. I've had them about a month now so will see how they go, but they seem fairly sturdy for now. A good friend of mine works at a company who makes the...

Pointless in the quest for more and more power yes. Like you say - everything else would feel the pain. But running an M47T at 160bhp would be less strained than an M47R at 160bhp...

Hmm... I might be wrong, but reading the article I think they are referring to using the M47 crank in a different motor to achieve a longer stroke... not retrofitting a crank into the M47. Looking at the first article you posted though it would seem the bore is the same in the M47R and M47T...

Nodge - Do you have any information on the differences between the M47 engine variants? I've tried to search this, however like a lot of information on the internet, I took what I found with a pinch of salt... From what I found the "M47T" looked to be the motor they increased the stroke to give...
