agreed, nice motor, don’t really want to spend that amount. But having said that, I intend this to be my final car purchase and keep it. Again that’s why I don’t want it stolen. Living around the countryside I do see lots of posts about stolen defenders round here.

So finally, my 5 star security 3/4 drive sockets arrived. So changed the MAF for the spare one I have. Car much better and readings appear normal now. Tickover 2000 rpm 3000 rpm I did leave it plugged in whilst I drove it round to get it warm. Readings look normal but cannot take pics...

It's a bloody nightmare to change. I am told it takes up to 4 hours. That's why I put an inline stat in mine

Finaly after a few months I have fixed my laptop. It had a very nasty virus that in the end I had to format the hard drive and remove the battery. All fixed and could do with a copy of rave for my 52 and 54 playe freelanders. cheers

For poly bushes already assembled it's a good price. If you are ok pressing poly bushes in the housings like I would you can get them cheaper. The really cheap ones are easy to fit I believe but good quality ones can be a bit of a pain. Hence me mentioning the assembled version.

poly ones from bell engineering, £60 I believe for all 3 in the aluminium housing.

Didnt have time to remove the MAF today but did get time to unplug it. Car runs lots better, will take some readings tomorrow so I know what default ecu readings are.

Someone has suggested there maybe a leak in the system. Only pipe I havn't changed is the one at the back of the engine.

Hi Nodge68, I did a search in the engine bay the other day and the connector had fallen of the MAP, reconnected now and showing 100.0 when engine is off. Car is running a lot better. My 54 plate is still running like a dog. Flat spots on gear change and low power, doing 400 miles to a full tank...

Apparantly the capacitor is inside the ECU and should be showing around 0.80v when the car is running.
