    MOT failure - Windscreen wipers

All sorted now. Took the adapter off and cleaned a bit of corrosion off the shaft. Put adapter back on nice and tight and all seems ok :D

Think this is it: I'll go and have another go at that screw on the side.

    MOT failure - Windscreen wipers

My Defender has just failed the MOT on the wipers. There is too much play in the mechanism so the arm is not covering enough of the windscreen (only the drivers side). Just had a look and the movement seems to be the adapter that the arm itself fits onto. There's what looks to be a grub screw...

    clutch fluid puddle

Best to change them both at the same time, master and slave. Shouldn't cost much more than £20 for the 2. Just done mine in the 110

    90 got the shakes

I had the same problem with my 110 and it turned out to be the U/J on the rear prop shaft. Snapped off altogether in the end

It's probably not something dealers will give out over the phone for security reasons. Check your manual and service record books as sometimes it's written in there.

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

All done. Bled the slave off the block with an eezibleed and adjusted the pedal to correct height. Mobile again! :D Cheers for the advice fellas!

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Might try jacking the front up tomorrow so the bleed nipple is higher than the rest of the cylinder

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Eezibleed works a treat. Just bled fluid and now have pressure on pedal. Pedal does seem to travel about an inch though before any pressure is felt. Could there still be an air lock in the system or is this an ajustment on the push rod?

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

How do you do it without? Won't the cylinder suck up air if you don't do it that way?? Edit: sorry - just read previous post!! I'll have a look on ebay now. Cheers

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Ok, had another go this afternoon. Adjusted the pedal pushrod so there is more travel in the piston, which now seems to have done the job (cheers CharlesY!). Fluid is now coming out of the bleed tube, just need to get a mate round or one of those bleed kits to bleed it properly now - ran out...

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Using Halfords universal brake & clutch fluid. Pop bottle is less than half full and pipe is right at bottom. Cheers

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Cheers, i'll give that a go tomorrow. Given the bleed nipple a couple of turns. The old one only need 1 turn. Go a length of pipe attached going into an old pop bottle full of fluid. Will that do the job? Cheers fellas!

Clutch master & slave cylinder pressure

Help! I've just replaced the master and slave cylinder on my 110, attached all the pipes and filled up the master cylinder with fluid. I've gone to bleed the fluid by turning the bleed nipple and pumping the pedal but nothing happens. The master cylinder doesn't seem to be pumping the fluid...

No, it's a secret :p Get in Landy and shut drivers door. Turn ignition key to position 2 and hold for 5 seconds, then turn off. Open and close drivers door. Turn ignition key on and off the same number of times as the first number in your code. Open and close drivers door. Turn ignition...
