Oh its still on the road. Just as long as I don't fill the tank then its fine. At least its a diesel, had similar problem in a 109 hicap i drove from suffolk to Cumbria and that was petrol!! I dont smoke!

Getting to the top of the tank on a 110 is such fun. Might break out the grinder and cut through the rear floor, I mean diesel aint really flammable :-)

My week is getting worse and worse. My drive has 7 vehicles on it, 4 are long term projects but 3 are daily's. Looks like someone has gone a bit bonkers with gasket sealant on the box already so already been apart. And if they used that much sealant probably didn't have a scooby what they were doing.

ta, on a 300 tdi you need a 1/2 inch spanner rather than a 13mm to remove which is a bit weird. Good old landrover with their mix of metric and imperial although i guess its Garrets fault.

Seen this one before. Pointed out to the chap that it wasn't original (different ad stated it was). Told him no Hicaps in 1971 and no flat defender front ends in 71. He got the right hump and told me i didnt know what i was talking about.

Before i start swearing and throwing my tools out of the pram does anyone have a magic easy way to refit 100 rear shoes with the hub still on and the springs correctly installed behind the shoes. I got the feckers off so they must go back on!!

Hello all, Running out of time to get all jobs done including 5 other landrovers, kids, work, house to repair, animals etc.. So does anyone know a good garage in or near South Cumbria that could recon a 2.25 petrol engine, same with gearbox and new springs? Thanks

You can put an auto in a Series landrover but its tough with the 2.25 engine. The few that are done tend to be Rover v8's with auto boxes.

Put the diff lock in and see if you get drive. Could be a blown halfshaft/diff/drive flange.

Its been bled properly. Doubt heater matrix blockage would cause this as main flow is through the rad.

No. Its a QH so hopefully of good spec. Anyhow i doubt the old stat AND the new one both would be failed open.

Have you driven a defender 300tdi auto before? I've got two and they are way slower than the r380 300 tdi i have but wife only droves autos so needs must.

Bit leftfield but could you swap the door lock/handle for a series version and do away with the door card and broken handle mechanism

I'm 6 feet tall and getting behind the wheel and being comfortable in my S3 109" hicap is a struggle. I have to duck slightly due to the low windscreen.
