Hi Mac.. I took mine to out local RR dealer he used the test book .cleared the fault for two minutes then it came back,, it the Hawkeye a little bit smarter on hard faults? mine was a low battery that generated the srs air bag fault. Cheers nick

Had the binnacle out and all bulbs checked ok :(

The BECM listens for any the remote to signal the car ,, but these early ones will listen and wake up on virtually any remote. .even my garage door.. so every time the garage is opened or another nearby car is unlocked ,, it stays in awake mode for a while then sleeps... the wakes when a remote...

Hi. the steering coupler is fine , checked continuity etc,, all ok, , on both of them.. as I said the fault appeared after the battery went flat,,,,, how would RR clear a hard fault like this ? I don't want to go and spend lots of cash on home test book kit and it doesn't clear the fault...

Hi.. one question,, if the RR Test book cant clear the fault, why can the aftermarket ones can ? the fault wasn't there when battery was charged up,, ran flat then faults appeared.. car hadn't moved.. I have replaced the rotary coupler and testes continuity from Air bat to the 2 pin...

change coupler and ecu checked sensors under bonnet.. the car was fine ,, parked it up on drive,, battery went flat,, plugged in battery in to charge it got some life in batter then fault appeared left on charge and then battery cooked new battery and over to RR on Test book to clear...

HI,, the fault read as open circuit on drivers airbag. is there a way to frig the connection to test the circuit up to the air bag ? may invest in Lynx... would this be the better option on home diagnostics kit ? Regards Nick

Thanks for the advice and ohh yesssss,, battery is dissed for 15 minute minimum before taking apart ( half hour to be safe ).

Will having the srs ecu remapped stop the fault ? ive just posted same issue with my P38 .. Regards Nick

Hi.. A great site with a wealth of info.. but can anyone help with this ? 1995 P38 4.6 HSE I have the dreaded SRS light flashing on dash and the Airbag Fault display :( The battery went flat and cooked when I charged it up.. (guess it was faulty as only 3 months old) so new battery fitted...
