You've just made the main point of this failure on the part of landRover , its a replacement for a Forrester , not a defender .

My 110 is quite happy to cruise at 70 gps (speedo is optimistic by about 3mph) even with 285/75 MT , its a tdi but of BMW origin 3ltr with 245bhp Rallyraid Dakar ecu . It accelerates faster than with its oe V8 or later 3.9i fitment . :)

Sticking the remote servo in cab would require fluid pipe entering and exiting cab , I used to fit in wing space under bonnet , all you need is a T in the vac line for brake servo and pipe to new servo . The engine pump will cope with both . HTSH

If you have a fixed budget , then halve it to buy the best you can and then the other half will be spent on sorting out all/ some of the problems of previous owners , depending how well you bought .
