Well I hiz no plumberist, but this is what I have read. Maybe the person witing it had no idea, maybe he meant it was reduced to this. Edit, only just realised who was writing this! Oops! The proper plumberist has spoken, so now I will proceed to the bottom of the garden and eat worms!!! (Along...

Sadly it isn't as easy as that, if it was plumbers wouldn't fit water pressure reducing valves. I actually looked into how they work, in case ours here packs up. tis all to do with a spring and a diaphragm.

    Odd problem (carburettors)

Peeps haven't needed to do that for a long time. Sprung ones do rub on the jet but that isn't allegedly, a problem.

I did manage to get up early enough to clean out and restraw the hen hut. It was still in the shade by the time I had had brekker and did the job. We then went of to Castres for the monthly big shop and a nice lunch. Blinking hot it is/was. Last night and the previous nights we had minor...

That's a heck of a lot of pressure. 1 to 1.5 bar is normal in the UK at your kitchen tap. Peeps who buy their white goods in the UK and then plumb them in in France sometimes have problems as, if there is no pressure reducer fitted from the main, it does them no good. It can be up to 7 bar here...

I was going to say that our Potterton Apollo that was new when W and her ex bought the house in about '84, and is still going strong. (I moved into it in 93) And our gas consumption for it is less than any boiler I ever had in my 1928 style detached which is very similar to @DanClarke 's. We put...

I am currently hoping that I can fix the electrical problem(s) with ours when I get home and that we don't end up having to get a new one. I do wonder if it ain't bust why you are looking to fix it? Or swap it out? Especially with the economic argument you have made. 😕

Well the not being able to sleep and having to have cold showers, I vaguely remember what that was like in my youuff! But yep, keeping the house cool enough to live and sleep in is an art form, especkly as we don't have hair kon.:):)

Fraid it may well be exactly that. :( Even the steam cleaner ain't shifted the very last of the stain and now there is a light coloured ring around all but one o em. At least I'll only have to do one plank for each, I think, and they ain't long ones.

This has stopped me doing the hen hut. I'll have to get up extra early tomorrow morn to do it.

    Disco 2 Traction controle problem

If you still have your old axle, take the right halfshaft etc off it, or maybe just the hub, and swap it with the new one. See how you get on.

Getting Gwen the Mini to Run.

Guess I misplained myself! I meant too loose so that the valve sat too tight, but that prolly doesn't make much sense either. Ignore me today, As you say, for a cylinder to achieve its highest compression, the inlet has to be open early enough, stay open long enough then close bang on time for...

    Disco 2 Traction controle problem

Changing just the sensor can lead to problems. It is best to change the whole hub and not disturb the sensor at all, they are designed so that the wire from the sensor can be fed through everything without having to disturb the sensor in its position. The gap between it and the reluctor ring is...
