when you say twisted do you mean to make a connection of the two wires? in other words bear the 2 wires and put together like you would joining wires together? so you no longer have a sensor connected to the wires, or you connected the new sensor to the old wires to the plug?

strange grinding noise from rear wheel thought is was a stone trapped in the disk shield turned out to be a spring had rusted away and the handbrake shoes were loose. fitted new shoes and replacement spring kit £28 all in.
