    thanks you were correct it is the rotary coupler as I spoke to the old owner today as I needed to collect the old key and he confirmed he used to hit the steering wheel if the horn stopped. I will be replacing asap.

    I have checked the fuse which is ok, as yet I have not tried the relay or tested the voltage output at the horn which is my next test. Also there is some corrosion on the battery earth terminal that I need to clean up. Do you know if I can use any of the other relays as a test?
