P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

Back again. Greased up the O rings but still no luck with the securing bracket. Does the bracket slot in to place first before tightening? Right now it's loose and I'm having to push it up with my hands when trying to screw it on. I've pushed and riddled with it but cannot find an...

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

I have copper grease, or is silicon better? Also, are the O rings supposed to fit snug in to the matrix? Right now the pipes slot in but they don't go in much and have little resistance

I did! They're on there somewhere, 11 quid from the main dealer I tried this with a fridge magnet, but I think it was too weak, the magnetisation was pathetic. Think I'll make a trip to Screwfix

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

I pulled the pipes + clamp out to take the pic, that's why it's not sitting right. Do the flanges on the pipes sit on top of the inlet surface? Or do they go further in? Someone has been and butchered the threads in it too. Made 10x harder by the fact that I don't have a magnetic screwdriver...

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

What's the secret to getting this clamp and screw back on the heater matrix? I've been at it for hours, it's kicking my arse Is there a certain way the clamp is supposed to sit on the matrix?

Got the buggers out. They don't look in bad condition, got me wondering if it's a leak with the pipes or the matrix itself. Anyways, what size o rings have people been using as a replacement? I've got some that are the same diameter but a little thicker. Old ones in above pic.

Anyone know what diameter duct this is? May as well replace it while I'm here

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

Wish I saw this before I started tearing the dash apart! Is it as simple as piping the internal (behind firewall )pipes to eachother and the external (engine loop) pipes to eachother? Made a start today, got some bits off but got stuck because I don't have any eTorx sockets. Got some coming...

It's definitely coolant, the puddle is a bright pink. Guess I'll be off the road for a while!

Had a look this afternoon, the drips are coming from somewhere in-between the front wing:

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

I pressurised it using a tester up to ~15 psi, and didn't see any coolant coming from the top of the expansion tank, so I don't think it's leaking from the overflow I was going to have another look this morning, but the weather has decided that I'll be spending the day indoors. No point looking...

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

Evening, Noticed my 4.6 has been losing some coolant recently. Pressurised the cooling system, and I can see drips dropping from the bottom of the wheel arch, just before the front driver (UK) wheel. Pics/video: Is there a common place where this leak could be coming from? Can't see anything...

    P38A Seized nuts!

I had this issue, it was solved quite quickly with a blowtorch and hacking away at the housing around the nut until I could just about fit a wrench on it to keep it still

P38A [P38] Keyfob not responding, can't start engine

Thanks for checking that out. I'll order a replacement one. Car still starts and drives, so I suppose it's not anything critical. I've not noticed anything stop working though.

P38A [P38] Keyfob not responding, can't start engine

I've just been out to take a picture of the fuse box diagram: RL10, bottom centre, is the one I'm missing. Anyone got a Thor they can double check?

I probably didn't get all the old oil out, I'll give it a run and check the levels again Fusebox lid shows a picture of an engine with an electrical bolt through it. Don't have a picture unfortunately! Imagine an EML with a lightning bolt. Next up.
