I’ll check the lead later today. I have another question. If the becm is configured for rhd but it’s actually lhd with the keylock on the left will that be of influence for syncing the fob? Or disabling the immobiliser altogether?

Ok to answer the question for the message on the dash with the key in the ignition. It does say “key in ignition” when opening the right door, passenger side for me but not for the left one. However I think that might have something to do with configuration in the becm.

I’ll check it tomorrow to wet outside right now.

Yes I tried to do the syncing as you described. I don’t think I get a message on the dash straight away for door open or something else. But I need to check again.

Yes I also checked the connections on the fusebox that are labelled becm. I have clean earth points also. I think I’ll have to recap and go over some stuff again. Somebody I believe pwood? said that when you disconnect the battery the car should actually remain open if it was open before a...

I might make a short video about it and share it with you. But basically the becm makes some clicking noise. There is already a message upon opening the menu that the becm Has received a valid code. When you press clear, a menu opens to tell you that it clears its memory. Afterwards it starts...

True lots of good folks here with very good advice. I just need time processing everything and check if my understanding of things is correct. We live and we learn nobody is born al knowing.

Of that I am not sure. It is difficult to know what happens. Normally once you connect to becm there is the diagnostics mode on the dash. That’s not the case now, everything that happens after that I cannot be sure about if it is truly done e.g. rf memory clear. Becm lets me do it in the same...

I also cleared the rf memory thinking it would work after that. I guess my patience will be tested.

I verified also continuity between the rf receiver and the becm. Everything is ok. I do have 2 fobs but i get the same response, nothing 😤

What you are saying is not wrong but I have this car since 2 years. And I know the state of things. The entire engine compartment is almost new or revised. The dash came out and I checked the obd port there and then. I did it again today. It is in tip top shape. This car is not heavily corroded...

I’m learning on the go here I don’t pretend to know anything about these cars. I never worked on cars before let alone car electronics. I am more mechanical inclined. But from what I read, when the becm is in alarm lockout it won’t unlock on the central locking. Working windows and mirrors on...

I don’t think that’s funny must be my sense of humor glad that we have that out of the way, what’s your contribution?

I was thinking, what am I not getting here😂 I’v send a mail to les Edward’s, today explaining my situation. The answer was brief: becm problem. Any suggestions here where to send it of for repair with a reputable service?

    P38 dse engine disabled

That’s probably what happened. So I guess I first need to figure out how to get the fob to work again. Because clearly it doesn’t work with the key.

    P38 dse engine disabled

I’m trying to make sense of this problem. So the first symptoms started with progressively worsening keyfob function until it didn’t work anymore. Then I started using the key for a week or so but bear in mind that this car is not a daily driver. After a week I got the message engine disabled...

Yes I did a voice over and it is not particularly clear at which point I do what but if I look at what you wrote down above I can confirm that’s accurate. I hear you it would make perfect sense to start with the EKA code input, the EkA procedure I have never used, basically because it has been...

Yes you should put the ignition to off for comms with becm. It doesn’t work with ignition on.

Ok today I connected the nanocom again to see if the input menu for the doorlocks on the becm works and it does. No diagnostic mode on the dash but it allows me to check the status of the locks on all 4 doors. I found the same behaviour on all 4 doors, when opening from the inside the becm...
