TWO failed thermostats in 2 months ??

I'm interested in cooler running! I've had 3 rads, 2 overheats and a head gasket go because of one. I know the system is meant to run pressured and thus hotter but I'd prefer to have less 'issues'... Charlie

Temerpature gauge goes straight to max

Impressive...and thanks for the replies thus far I wonder why - 4 pins? I noted this youtube video that implied 2 pins were the in/out for the ECU and the other 2 pins were for the gauge, why they would be separate I don't know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXNBlH0c4_U A standard...

Frankly I could have messed anything up - amazed it started first time. Tom / Will, I agree it is most likely wiring. How would I go about diagnosing it (sorry if this is basic...)? Charlie

Cant see where this cable connects to: L322 B8 M62 BMW

Hi, On further investigation it was the camshaft sensor (UK drivers side) and for some reason (perhaps it is normal) the plug (female) connected to a male plug instead of the on the passengers side whereby it connected to a male plug on the wire box on top of the injectors. I had...

Thanks to all for the comments. I've decided to do all the top engine gaskets and coolant pipes. Not really looking forward to it but it will be worth it. Would you advise an RTV gasket for the valley pan on a new valley pan with gasket. There are conflicting views on the net as the...

    Strange Xenon Behavior!?!?!

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with the passengers side headlight. Sometimes it lights, sometimes not. I've swapped the parts from the other side as you did and no change. I've had the problem for 18 months and luckily it just happened to work during the last MOT... Personally I would...
