L322 BMW V8 - Not another coolant leak ...and an oil leak for fun too

Job was okay, just unbolt the unit as required. Note my vaporiser was held on using a bracket that was attached to the set screw coming from the suspension strut. This should be torqued to the correct value ... There's no need to drain the coolant, as you take the pipes off quickly move them...

BMW V8 M62TUB Coolant Temperature Reduction using a lower temp thermostat

Gull, Do you have a photo showing where the leak on the LPG is? Also I have never regretted buying a Halfords socket set. I've had mine a long time and it has done very well. The latest set has an even better selection of sockets for the L322 notably a range of allen head sockets which...

Gearbox service and oil cooler flush

I personally can not see a reason to replace the oil cooler. I would simply clean the water side with some mild acid and the oil side with thinners. That being said, I am speaking out or my arse until I actually had an old one in front of me to compare the energy transfer to a new one after...

BMW V8 M62TUB Coolant Temperature Reduction using a lower temp thermostat

It would be great if you could take some photos of the part, I know they won't be too exciting, as I am going to add a stat modification "how to" and it would be great to document the results - a photo of the hidden menu temp would be nice... Charlie

articulation validity fault NSF suspension inactive

I agree, £60 quid is good: depressurise the system, remove the wheel, fit and torque to spec (it's awkward to fit without another person to hold it in place), reset fault codes, make sure it goes up etc.

    Old M62TUB44 stat wanted please...

You wont sod it up. If it does go tits up I have a new one you can have for 1/2 price. I actually bought a new one as part of a large order and then decided on the mod after my lpg vaporiser nylon pipes crumbled apart. It will sit in a box, then I'll forget where I put it and...

Changing the air compressor / replacing the compressor piston ring (2002-2005 only)

The air compressor gets worn over time and can result in Air Suspension Inactive dash warnings. Diagnostics will are best to really diagnose the issue (unless leaks can be heard) but a worn compressor is not an uncommon problem. When the output is low it can overheat and the ECU will shut it...

A clear video showing how to put the bonnet in service mode and remove the battery Permission to link to this video as a 'how to' has been given by Simon Jefferson of PowerfulUK Notes: 1) You don't need two people to put the bonnet in service mode. Remove both the clips holding the gas...

    Hidden coolant leak L322 4.4

Yes it is for the PCV valve but it shows the pollen filter housing removed so you can gain access to the heater matrix and the bonnet in service mode. Basically disconnect the pipes (the ones I drew the circle round in saints picture and flush it with a hose. Ideally warm up the hose and...

L322 BMW V8 - Not another coolant leak ...and an oil leak for fun too

Because everything is easier to get to and it isn't the valley pan gasket which is tiresome especially when you have LPG. Charlie
