Disco 2 Fuel consumption, Can this be right ???

Very good point :), I know on my old 200Tdi the light would come on and if I ignored it would go of again and then come back on 10-15 miles later, just not that brave in this one

Disco 2 Fuel consumption, Can this be right ???

Pretty certain no leaks and oil level not gone up or has a "dieseley smell", and also not been chipped, although i have thought about it, just worried fuel consumption will go up even more. kermit rr I get your point about filling it up which i will try but as the fuel light seems to come on at...

Disco 2 Fuel consumption, Can this be right ???

When the fuel light comes on i reset the trip mileage, then put in £20 or £40 worth and reset the trip, noting distance to garage (reserve fuel) Then when the fuel light comes back on note the mileage deducting distance to garage. Then convert litres to gallons and divide miles by gallons, I...

Disco 2 Fuel consumption, Can this be right ???

Hi all Vehicle is a 2002 Discovery Td5 Auto, not had it long and think the fuel consumption is to high as i'm only getting 12 mpg :eek:. Now i knew it wasn't going to compare with my old 200 Tdi but surely 12 cannot be right, the vehicle has just had a new brand new 15p head and gasket set...

Big coolant loss, What happened next

Hi all Well been a hectic few weeks and would like to post this as a big thanks to all the peeps that have given advice, and to say what has happened. After deciding the cause of the coolant being pressurised was the head gasket i booked it into a local Land rover garage for the work to be done...

Hi all Firstly thanks for this , , unfortunately they will take up to 10 days to get to me, asked about quicker but got told no. rang Wurth who are only 40 miles from me and they don't do a kit as such only individual items and unless i can tell them the thread length of the stud they cannot...

Deweb or no deweb, that is the question

Hi, thanks for reply, From what you say I think i will take out as much as i can with a 1mm slitting disc and then a grinder disc for the rest, any special reason why you took out the stud holes to different size's ??. I'm not having any problems with the manifold at the moment but from what i...

Hi Well todays update, ran engine up to temp from cold with no cap on, both pipes on heater got hot and heater worked fine, pipes were more squishy than with cap on, only thing happening in header tank was a steady stream of water from the return pipe, no other bubbling at all. Put cap back on...

Disco 2 Td5 Big coolant loss

Well todays update, Got a cap from breaker (from running motor) still blows water from overflow, got new cap from Landrover, still blows water from overflow. Disco 2 Td5 Big coolant loss

Ah right, good to know. No it hasn't overheated (yet) the temp needle sits on the halfway mark, but I'm sure if i didn't keep a close eye on it it would, one strange thing i have noticed is my old 200Tdi used to get to just below the halfway mark then i assume the thermostat opened and it drop...
