I ordered a cable from Paddocks 599312 it fits in the slot but the length looks short. Find out later when the wiring goes back in.

Update on this I called my son and he looked at the photo and said it may have come off his Midget which he broke up years ago.

Hi folks, continuing story of the rebuild of my sons series 3 1983. In the pile of parts was this choke cable. I cant seem to make it fit anywhere so suspect it is not the correct one. rhd 1983 . Any thoughts here? cheers. part number in the book says 599312 for one with steering column lock.

Updated sorted the problem........which was myself:D. When refitting the unit together 3 years ago., I had fitted the levers upside down. No wonder it wouldn't fit.

Both shafts connected by the uj have passed through the swivel pin housing/bearing and oil seal and are engaged in the diff. When the stub axle is fitted the half shaft bears against the inside of the stub axle. Is this correct?

Thanks for the reply James, I should have made it clearer So, when the shaft passes through the axle, it comes up hard against the inner flange of the stub axle. Just metal against metal and lubricant of course. Peter

Hi fellows, I got a couple of outer stub shafts and prior to fitting I noticed that there is no oil seal in the stub axle 599827? Is this correct ? it looks as if the shaft runs metal to metal with the axle? I cant see any bearings or oil seal in the book. cheers peter
