    Series 3 Body Removal

I get you… has been my approach for the last 10 years but last proper check showed it was so bad I needed to ditch it as the daily and lay it up over winter to avoid the salt to try and slow down the rot. If I’m going to keep it going I think I need to take the plunge and get to grips with it or...

+1 on this. Exactly same for me on my 2.25 petrol 109 in every respect.

    Series 3 Body Removal

Thanks. I think I’ll start with roof and tub as suggested and see what’s what. It’s the top of the chassis where I’ve never seen that worries me most. I’ve patched at the rear previously - welding with the body on but doing it upside down is a right pain and probably didn’t do very good job of...

    Series 3 Body Removal

Thanks gents for the replies...If the weather (and enthusiasm) holds I shall attempt to undo some bolts and see where it gets me... no doubt i'll discover everywhere it's attached is rotten and I'll never get it back on again, but least i'll be able to see how bad the chassis really is and take...

    Series 3 Body Removal

Afternoon All - been a while since I was on here...not having the Landy as my daily driver any more has reduced the constant need for fettling to a far more relaxing and enjoyable occasional tinker ;) I feel that now might be the time to bite the bullet and really get to grips with the rot on...

    Petrol leak

Worth checking the rubber hose piece that links the filler to the tank first as it’s easy to look at under the side. Mine had perished a while back and leaked on filling so if you put fuel in not long ago it might have absorbed into that and coming down through there. Cheap and easy to replace...

    What should be connected here

To be fair mine is like that because that’s what it was like when I got it and I went with the ‘if it ain’t broke’ approach! Not always the best way to go with series considering what POs may have done I grant you but in this bit at least I’ll keep it til it breaks then put more thought in to it!

    What should be connected here

I am no expert, and happy to be wrong, but on my S3 2.25 the brake servo hose goes direct to the manifold and the carb bottom pipe connects to the breather system. Certainly that's how it was when I got it over 10 years ago and pretty sure the set up is standard - looks that way from the manual...

    What should be connected here

it connects to the pipe that has the breather on it.... see pic of mine below

    Series inspection lamp.

Well that counts me out then for sure. But since you don’t have the requisite holes I could show you where you could stick it if you like…;)

So THAT’S what those red & black holes in my dash are for :D

    Series 2 or Series 3

Yeah - go with whichever one has its chassis / bulkhead in best nick. Pretty much everything else can be fixed or replaced but take it from me there’s nowt more depressing than watching your chassis rot from under you while you keep everything else in good order - there’s only so much patching...

rotten front outrigger & door pillar base. Help !!!!

If you look up the s3 full manual it has complete measurements of the chassis in it which should guide you if need be

series 3 109 resto' part ID needed

My '80 109 does have anything like that on the outriggers if it helps...I also put on the outrigger with two rectangle locating plates for the tub a few years back and had no issues. So as above, think you can safely ignore
