Oil in CV joints / Spline wear on halfshaft

What you are thinking is all wrong. What you are describing is how the set up should be for Land Rover Ninety and One Ten models. The "Defender did not come in until late 1990. [this distinction can be important when ordering parts] I have a pre Defender 1990 Ninety that has the same axle...

    200tid starter issue

Doubt you fried it but you could have jammed it in gear. Try putting it in gear say 3rd high with ignition off and rock the truck back and fore. Given it's a Landy you may need a couple of mates to help do this.

    Handrake ratchet not catching

Plenty of older vehicles around here. Had a look at an electric job the other day, just an electric servo motor pulling on cables. Another thing to go wrong so folk do not learn how to hill start using the hand brake!:(:(

    Handrake ratchet not catching

Yes go from the seat box center plate. Clean and a tad of lube may do it. Could be ratchet itself worn or the pawl that catches in it has gone/worn. When learning to drive a long time ago I was taught to pull brake up with thumb on button and then release. Today one hears many just "rasping"...

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

Having a partially seized UJ in the steering results in a knotchy feel when you turn the steering, bit scary when it starts when driving at speed.[ I know that] The force to move the swivel [ in my old manual a fishing scale is used pulling on the hole where the track rod goes] is noted as 12lbf...

    Car seats

Have in recent times had little grandchildren to transport I have to say that todays child/baby seats are rather large when compered to plastic bucket baby one of 35 years ago. Modern cars have a built in system to lock in child seats so you will need a type that can also be fitted using the...

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

A dead or nearly dead shock/damper can result in that sort of rattle upon hitting a pot hole but pre load first.

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

Fix the other side, new top pin and bush if there is any side to side movement at the top of the swivel housing. In this case just removing shims will only improve things for a bit.

Lost me clutch, thoughts? Found the fault with a pic.

Endoscope attachment for I phone and look through the slave as per @D1Nut post. Mine's arm went at 69K [ I keep a record of major repair/service items] It would depend on where you live, driving with me is mostly up hill and down the cwm on back roads so lots of changes.

    Road bias tyres

I have a couple of roof bars for when needed. I DO NOT leave them on, loads of wind noise and great when off road for catching over growth.

Lost me clutch, thoughts? Found the fault with a pic.

Had my landy a long time. When it was still a 19j about 23 year ago had the original fork go through. Also found its pivot had worn to a point. Replaced with standard fork and new pivot with a dab of grease on it. 3 Years later 19j was done and replaced with a Defender 200tdi Fork was fine...

    Road bias tyres

There will not be a huge difference between AT and what are often called "all weather" noise wise. Fitting a lower profile tyre to fit into multi story's will upset your gearing, needing more revs to obtain the same road speed as before. You have a roof rack in your pic. Take it off to reduce...

    LT230 - RDX rebuild kit

I did a partial strip down on an lt230 that came my way last year. Like yours it turned nice and smooth but had sat a long time. Flanges off to check lands, bottom plate to check gears, diff lock shaft needed freeing up. Some Gaskets and seals was all that were needed. I did do those 0 ring...

    Door handle

It wont just pop back in and stay there, given the need to get in the back might as well fit a new one.
