What have you done to your Freelander today

So after a marathon, months long period of work @Nodge and myself have finally got my old girl all sorted. A couple of minor issues remain but we are basically back. Thanks also to @andyfreelandy too. Just need to get the handbrake up to full performance and sort a propshaft vibration at 55-60 mph

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well after your intial adjusting may not have had satisfactory results I can say that since getting home the handbrake appears to be improving slightly. I think some warmth in the shoes is helping

    Brake Shield and MOT

The brake shields on mine are a right old jaggedy mess. It'll be going in for MOT in a week or so, so I'll report back on what the outcome is. Mind you, the last test at the same "strict" Council workshops I've used for years gave me a pass despite a significant hole in the rear subframe being...

Looking fantastic! I hope there will be updates along the trip?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Hope the new ones last reasonable time. Anything I have replaced, even when using genuine or OEM parts, never seem to last as long as the original parts.

NSF driveshaft done today. Just need to top up the ATF and adjust the rear brakes and we're back! Just in time for the MOT in two weeks time.

Freelander 1 TD4 oil leak. Cam cover ? and over boost

I'm afraid I'm nowhere near knowledgable to contirbute thoughts as to the possible causes of this one, but, I'm interested none the less so keep the updates coming.

Freelander 1 TD4 oil leak. Cam cover ? and over boost

Looking at the engine with the airbox and cam cover gone it doesn't half make changing the steering arms and that turbo hose look much easier!

Freelander 1 Freelander 1 TD4 eml with exclamation mark appear 5 seconds when full throthle. PLEASE HELP!!

I'd ignore how long the reader says the MIL has been on. The issue for the OP is why is it lighting up on the dash momentarily with a corresponding loss of power, and low mpg. @manoleandreigabriel@gmail When you apply full throttle, is there much smoke from the exhaust?

I shall look forward to seeing this one cleaned up. Take a photo of the oily mess too

Freelander 1 TD4 oil leak. Cam cover ? and over boost

Definitely a rare one this. I'll be interested to see how the investigation goes. The main oil leak on mine over the years was from one of the turbo bolts, twice.

    Freelander 1 Preserving the scarce ! FL1

Looks mint although it's listed as an SE but it's got HSE seats and no heated seat switches though

What have you done to your Freelander today

It's a job I'm sort of looking forward to doing to see how good a job I'll make of it. I doid a boat building apprenticeship years ago and doing headlining was one of the jobs I quite enjoyed. I'm just not looking forward to removing all the 20 year old plastic clips etc, and getting the old...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I've already applied a similar tactic, with some plastic covered drawing pins and some superglue Whilst the first bit of this is true, the trim is not holding mine up at the moment :p

What have you done to your Freelander today

I'll keep it going as long as I can. Next job on the preservation front is some corrosion prevention on the sills, and the next cosmetic job is the chuffing headlining, which has bothered me for two or three years now. Must pull my finger out!

What have you done to your Freelander today

Smooth and quiet. The rear diff was particularly silent... ;) Slight pull to the left but to be expected given the suspension and steering component changes. Once the driveshaft is swapped it's off for alignment we go.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Can't really claim credit for it as it was mostly @Nodge68 but front half of the prop back on, along with offside wishbone and track rod end. Even managed a quick drive up the road! Just a drive shaft to do and we're back baby!

    Stuck thermostat inline mod

Same as this for mine too. It's been in a good few years now.
