Found a massive hole where there should be o/s inner wing battery tray and associated other panel pieces. fell to bits. Oh well I like welding.

I too am planning a trip like this, but in June '13. figured ferry to Bergen then head North. Coastal route, occasional ferry and aim to see the Arctic Circle via the scenic route.

New wheel bearings front O/S, would have put in new steering damper on Sumo Bars, and new brake fluid after fitting new lines and a new valve, but the rain beat me.

Whilst you are over Newtown way you could do a lot worse than try Tim at McDonald Land Rover Oswestry. slightly out of your way but easy to head down A5 home from there and they are cheap and good. Pete

Had an M10 bolt shear on the axle / swivle ball, so not even a part i could discard and replace easily..................................I got lucky though and managed to extract the B@stard, took all afternoon mind.

Tinkerbell is getting new O/S swivel joints, discs, callipers, got nice Heavy Duty hub ends too, painting all the underside around the spring and shock. Got Sumo Bars to put on so all linkage being replaced. Then it is MOT time. Wish her luck.

Won't help much because of where you are (In relation to where I am.) I had the same thing, as have many other owners. I got a little Mig Welder and haven't looked back. Started out messy but strong and now have cut away my ugly bits and redone them. May sound a bit masochistic but I enjoy it now.

Where did you run the breather to? The cab?

Collected a whole load of goodies from McDonald Land Rover. Let progress begin...............
