    1997 P38A DT Overheating

Viscous fan was replaced this time last year. Can't remember what make off the top of my head but I know I had the choice of a Sh*tpart one for £40 or this one for nearly £200.... So I had the dear one. I know when I've had cracked head before (twice now 🙄) they tend to just pressurize the...

    1997 P38A DT Overheating

I seem to remember putting a good quality WP on it... probably Quinton Hazell knowing me.... but that was about 2015... The coolant was coming out through the expansion tank.

    1997 P38A DT Overheating

Hi everyone and happy new year, if we're still doing that. About a week ago I was driving the P38a Diesel around all day long and then had to go on a run up north in it. I got about as far as Derby, which is and hour and half from home when I stopped for a coffee. Coming back out of the...

Can anyone identify what these chassis' are, please?

Is the lower chassis in the first photo a 200tdi chassis or is it too hard to tell? It looks like it has a different rear cross member to the one thats on top of it.

Can anyone identify what these chassis' are, please?

Thats exactly what I think, if i bothered to look i bet id find more rot further along the chassis anyway. I know I spotted a hole in a front spring bracket when I was changing a brake hose earlier this year, so that wont be the last of it....

Can anyone identify what these chassis' are, please?

Wow. I knew you fellas would be able to identify it. ive noticed a crack appearing around my rear crossmember on my 92' 200tdi 90. I could get away with just welding a new rear crossmember on, but theres a part of me that just says "fit and forget" a whole new chassis. These just looked a...

Can anyone identify what these chassis' are, please?

There are some Galv' 90 chassis' for sale on ebay: 184457797007 but they are advertised as a NAS chassis' which will take a 200tdi engine.... but as far as I knew NAS' 90's were V8s so they had different engine mounts to the TDi engines and NAS chassis' had a different rear cross member and...

knackered thread on transfer box.. what are my options?

Thanks Chaps :)... all sorted and back up and running now. The"old" speedo drive was well and truly corroded in, as you said, 'Phill, so i had to take the output shaft off and knock it out with a punch. Thankfully the speedo drive in the "new" box came out much more easily and the handbrake...

knackered thread on transfer box.. what are my options?

Today ive removed the transfer box once again and tapped the butchered thread out to 7/16 UNF which seems to have worked nicely. Box is now back in again and bolted down solidly all round. Sadly, ive now found that the "new" box has an electronic speedo drive whereas my old box is mechanical...

knackered thread on transfer box.. what are my options?

After driving home last week with a lovely "crunchy bearing" noise coming from under my 1992 200tdi D90 and also getting home to find my handbrake was non existent, i decided to replace my transfer box. Today ive got the replacement used transfer box in place with the mounts back in but ive...

Clutch pedal wont return after master and slave replacement

Thank you to everyone. Hopefully I’ve learnt something this weekend. Hicaphills trick has cured it. Boguings suggestion may well have worked also. Helper spring was fitted at the point of reassembly, but I suspect that would benefit from being replaced.

Clutch pedal wont return after master and slave replacement

Slave nipple is on top, thank you for pointing that out. Thanks also for pointing out that Brittania video. Not sure who that man is, but hes very informative and entertaining while he's at it. What more can you ask for from a youtuber? Ill try again tomorrow with the nose pointing up hill and...

Clutch pedal wont return after master and slave replacement

Thank you for that. I haven’t actually driven the car yet, but perhaps it will “bed in” as you describe. Reason the parts were renewed was that the rubber hose had deteriorated to the point that it was losing fluid and by the time I’d removed that hose I just decided to replace everything on...

Clutch pedal wont return after master and slave replacement

Hi everyone. Just replaced the clutch hydraulics on my factory built LHD 200tdi D90 but i cant seem to get the pedal to spring back to its rest position without physically lifting the pedal up by hand. The master and slave cylinders have been replaced along with all three pipes that go between...

Anyone here any good with Eberspacher heaters?

Sincere thanks. Electrics are not my strong point but the day we stop learning is the day we start dying.

Anyone here any good with Eberspacher heaters?

Its an old LCD controller and the days of the week on it suggest that I can set the thing kick in when I want it to. I just couldn't work out how it knows what the temperature is. Ill work it out in the morning, im sure. Thanks for your help.

Anyone here any good with Eberspacher heaters?

While you two were writing those very informative posts, I seem to have cracked it myself. The wiring is dead easy. Ive put the fat and the thin red wires together and put a 30 amp fuse on those, at the positive end of the battery. The brown wire speaks for itself and just goes to the negative...

Anyone here any good with Eberspacher heaters?

Thanks for that. I watched it a few times but it assumes that your pump plugs straight into the loom, which in my case it does not. It is a useful video though. Ive got power to the control board and ive got the fan spinning but I cant get the pump to bleed at the moment. All it does is...
