The driving factor is the more security the better. Cat 1 alarms, tracker of some kind, disklok, pedal lock, fuel cut off switches, armoured hinges, CCTV, post on driveway or in front of garage door....all of that little lot and as much more as you can fit and afford !

Now it's got no power steering - in itself not a problem, but I run 33' tyres....so it's a tad heavy at slow speeds, and combined with my utter inexperience off road it's going to be too much for me.

Chaps, if no-one can do it or it's too far out of peoples way to make it work it's not a problem :) I know the plan is to venture off elsewhere, so then expecting someone to drop me back is a big ask ! If it doesn't work out then so be it - but the Defender will be ready for the next one ! :p...

Thankyou very much :) I'm Gatwick way but can get to Dorking for the initial meet no problems. I suppose it depends where we veer off to after that where problems could arise if I need to get back to the car !

Opinions please chaps ! Steering was fine. Clutch needed serious bleeding which has been done, pedal now good. Backing up to drive away, Heard belt scream briefly, then no power steering. Bled the system - wheels up, lock to lock. Lots of air coming out, fairly sure system now clear. Test...

Hi guys Today discovered the PAS pump is shot - less than a year old and <c.1k miles....bit ****ed about it but are where we are. No receipt or anything, so down to me. Now, firstly does anyone have an OEM (not a ****part effort which is what I think I naively ended up with last time) one...

Well chaps, despite heroic efforts from @flat & @RIchard Savage (who fixed the first issues !) the Defender has developed another unrelated problem, and therefore won't be coming out to play next Saturday.... :( But....does anyone have room for a passenger if I buy them breakfast ? :D
