Sounds like the clutch may need bleeding - had the very same thing happen on mine a few weeks back.

Can't be arsed with reading this whole thread so the point may have been made earlier, but why not just take the front wheel off it and put in the back ? All I've ever done with my Kona !

Unfortunately that's what alot of them today are like. Mechanically they're relatively easy to maintain, but bodywork on alot of them is atrocious and that's where the money needs to be spent. A lot today are very fast old nails....

The 309 GTi was actually very underrated, some say a better car than the 205. RS's are fetching mad money now, the biggest problem being people thinking their million mile thrashed to **** pile of crap being worth monster money. Not so. Good cars fetch strong money, but there are waaay more old...

The 1.9's do go well - they're the one to have. I like my old Ford's :) the old ones are the best !

There was never a production turbocharged 205 fella, only 1.6 or 1.9 naturally aspirated from the factory. The MI-16 was a 16v engine they put in that came from the 405.

Clutch cables ALWAYS snapped on R5 GT Turbo's ! If it needed a clutch that was an engine out job !

£9k to insure it ??!! No way ! Not in a million years is it that much. If you want to insure here you would need it on UK plates, so keeping Italian ? Not really....
