1989 90 19j only used locally and for laning, running Insa special track type tyres averaging 22 mpg but speedo is definitely under reading so probably a bit better than that, will have to check against a sat nav one day

I think I`m going mad, I want to do the tappets on my 19j and also have a slight oil seep from the 3 x rubber seals on the rocker cover bolts so thought I`d order the seals and gasket. For the life of me I cant find the seals only the gasket, someone put me out of my misery please!!!

What I`m thinking of doing is have the frame blasted and carryout any repairs required then spray the frame with a product I think is called Galvon, I`ve used it on bare metal which has been outside for some years and no sign of rusting, I think its a type of spray on cold galvanising so will...

Think i`m leaning towards the Galv skins as there will be no reaction between frame and skin. I will have to strip off the old skin and check the condition of the frame, if its repairable then go from there.

Not sure how true it is but I read that original door skins are any ally mix but the replacement skins are normal ally and very soft so will dent easily, not good when off roading. If that's correct then it looks like I will definitely be going for galvanised ones

If it's going to be a long term keeper is it worth biting the bullet and going for a galv chassis

The passenger door on my 90 needs either replacing or major repair, the bottom of the frame seems fine but the top cross bar below the window is rotted and the skin is shot. I keep looking for good used but they all look worse than mine for silly money. The other option is strip off the skin...

Unless the seller is someone you know well I would ask to go and inspect the bulkhead when the corners have been cut off.

Mine is glued directly to the roof so will have to see how it goes through winter

Only just seen this, yeah headlining all done plus console and switch panel, really pleased with how it turned out

Just done mine, got it from local car paint supplies place they didn’t have high temp but it was spray headlining adhesive so hopefully good enough

I`ve made a start and started mocking things up, have now bought a 7 inch LCD and 2 camera`s so its going to mainly house the screen with the section above the steering wheel for carling switches for extra work lights etc

Some good ideas there,will have to have a play and see what route to take

That would probably Be an easier solution so might have to mock something up to see if that works for me
