    Towing indicator.

because its a legal requirement when towing a trailer/caravan that you have a tell-tale indicator light (buzzer permitted in UK) informing you that the indicators are functioning on the trailer - If it doesn't work then it will be an MOT failure from next year, and also attracts a wee fine from...

300tdi, found the leak, how to fix?

Having just had another look at your photo I would be tempted just to clean the seam sealer off around the seams on the inside and make sure it is nice and dry and apply fresh seam sealer.

300tdi, found the leak, how to fix?

from looking at you have 2 options to "cure" the leak. 1) remove the outer wing and remove all seam sealer etc and weld the seam up then reapply seam sealer/underseal 2) apply copious amounts of seam sealer to both sides of the seam in the hope that it seals it - obviously this is the quick fix...

    Its raining... in my disco!

Ugly Duck, I had the same problem as you!! I solved it after months of probing and checking! Have a look under the bonnet below the plastic panel where the wipers are. If you look under it you will see where the bulkhead panel joins the bottom of the windscreen - there is a seam between the...

    Sound proofing

Hi folks, Have had to chuck the sound proofing from the front floor of the Disco as it was pretty fecked beyond use thanks to a fist sized hole in the floor in front of the sill that was miraculously missed by the MOT tester back in february before I aquired the vehicle. I have now repaired...

    Dodgy Head lights!

forgot to add that the tail lights do not come on when the headlights come on when it is swithced off - I initially thought it may be the stalk but I would think that the tail lights would come on also?

    Dodgy Head lights!

Noticed this morning whilst at my workshop that I had "left" the lights on on my Disco. On going to it to switch them off I discovered that they were "off" on the light stalk. When I started the vehicle and turned the lights on and then off again they stayed off. turned the ignition off...

    Front seat mounting frame

    Front seat mounting frame

I have a 1995 Disco 300tdi. It has at some point in its life been fitted with what I believe is RRC front and rear leather seats with arm rests. The front seats are fully electric (comfy, but just dont suit the vehicle and are a tight fit against the doors) and are fitted on what i think are...

northern Ireland series 3 109 "dougal"

I can't really offer much knowledge on the Series 3 109 VPK (Makralon) versions as they were used many years before my service in Northern Ireland. Having done a little research online, it seems that the early Vehicle Protection kits were indeed bolt on and were Makralon/GRP. I only ever had...

northern Ireland series 3 109 "dougal"

Open topped or stripped down Land Rovers were used in Northern Ireland in the early years of the troubles. These were quickly adapted by the soldiers themselves to provide limited protection against bricks etc. in the late 70's purpose built add-on "makralon" armour was produced that was...
