Less travel before changes. New rear shoes yesterday and front pads about 2k ago.

All, Thanks for the replies, I am going to bypass the compensator tomorrow to see what difference it makes. The mot failure just said rear brakes not working . Pedal travels to the boards , suggesting air in system. Has been power bled but will go around it all again tomorrow (If it's warmer !)...

Nothing done with compensator yet. Keep being told that never fails. Think next step is to strip that down.

Further update. I have replaced the following so far (all new parts), master cylinder, rear shoes, rear cylinder and flex pipe. Have pressure bled the system and still no rear brakes. Jack it up apply the brakes and you can turn the rear wheels by hand. There is fluid coming out when I bleed...

Update Thought I'd share that 6 months on there is no wear on any of the areas I painted. I thought the side runners would mark but they look as good a they did when first painted. I have to say I am impressed with the product.

Just spoke to my old man (who took it for the mot). The rear brakes aren't working at all (the balance issue was before the cylinder was changed) they work a tiny bit after being pumped. They have been bled and adjusted up.

Cheers ill look for a disco one. Mine failed mot on brake balance across rear axle. Fitted new shoes and cylinders made no difference, garage recommended changing compensator.

Evening all, I'm trying to find a brake compensator for a 1991 200tdi defender (see pic). It's an obsolete part and so far Im drawing a blank. Any ideas where I might get one please?
