What are the fuel trims showing? Do they have a post cat lambda sensor? What are the lambda sensors showing on the diag? Regular wave patterns or flat patterns when the engine is upto temp?

As a rule, all the airbag sensors get corrosion in the plugs as most 38's take on water... Cut the plugs and hard wire them with either solder or good butt connectors. Its rare the actual airbags fail. Once done clear the faults and go from there. 👍

The 1.5hdi is a camshaft link chain thrower, they've now reverted back to a thicker oil and chain😩 I've got the 2.0hdi in my volvo/Ford focus based car. So far 210.000mls on it and it goes like stink tuned to 170bhp🫣 I think the handling comes from the focus at platform as it corners and handles...

If you have live data on the diag, Look at how the egr is behaving.. If the percentage figures of the egr valve glitch and or don't match the intended percentages it could be sticking just enough not to flag a fault. Also read the maf figures while the engine is running and look for a reasonable...
