    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

just a little update on this, i have not technically fully resolved this as I still get 3 amigos come up randomly every few weeks. im wondering if the marks on the abs sensors are 'normal' though. this is from a functioning sensor. also i have always installed hubs which come with the abs...

Disco 2 plug and play ECU?

managed to get it to work. do you know if there is a way to start a d2 without a functioning bcu? would it be possible to short a few wires maybe? obviously with a deimmobilised ecu

Half shaft seals failing repeatedly Discovery 2

got the same issue, wondering how you got along, the the NAK sealfix the issue? i think its either the seals or the swivel hub alignment is wrong. problem is the tool to align it costs around 1000eur and my local land rover specialist doesnt have it :(

Disco 2 Front hub/axle seal leaking

passenger side has been fine for years. driver side starts leaking after a month or so. i have not notices any cracks and i even tried to put a tiny smear of rtv between the axle housing and the seal. however, when i replace them they are not visibly destroyed as in the picture. that is why i...

Disco 2 Front hub/axle seal leaking

one thing that i did notice though is that the seals as shown in this thread look completely destroyed. in my case they leak a little fluid (not enough that i have to refill frequently but it does wet the lower ball joint, caliper and inside of the tyre) and the seal itself looks intact

Disco 2 Front hub/axle seal leaking

interesting, so the ID of the seal should be a little larger than the od of the shaft? how will it seal then?

Disco 2 Front hub/axle seal leaking

hello all! driver side hub seal is leaking and no matter what i do, i cant seem to fix it! The shaft is a heavy duty Ashcroft shaft. It did not come with new sealing shield but i did have an engineer make me a new one to be sure that wasnt causing the leak. I did replace the seal a few times...

Disco 2 plug and play ECU?

I have a spare ecu for my Discovery TD5. is it possible to set it up as "plug and play" somehow? maybe it is possible to disable the immobiliser function of the BCU? i tried turning the passive immobiliser off and connected the spare ecu. copied the injector codes from the original ecu but it...

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

I tested the output of the rhs and its the expected 5v, i have no idea where the sparks came from. As you know driver side is not easily accessible and i have an accessory fusebox. From what im seeing there are no exposed wires that could have generated the spark but i wasnt really seeing what i...

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

so its been a few days of 3-amigos free driving. the resolution? i sprayed a bit of contact cleaner into the female plugs of the abs sensors and left it over night to work. Same ecu, same sensor! sometimes the solution is easier that we think o_O Long term i would like to replace the plugs...

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

thanks a lot, i will keep you posted of the progress! tomorrow i will have some time to investigate a bit further, especially the voltage! what im still curious is that the lights come on randomly, almost always go off after i switch the car off and on , the will reset, also noticed that the...

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

The sparks that i saw where from more than 5v for sure! Will wait for the new ecu at this point

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

So it was too good to be true and lights came back on immediately. I tried to unplug the hub connector however noticed that if it touched an earth point, there were a lot of sparks. I dont have my multimeter with me but is there supposed to be a live 12v there (Ignition was off)?

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

hopefully in my case all it was a slightly unplugged sensor! if it is, nanocom through me off course as it was signalling the wrong hub, but anyway... good thing i did not damage the old hub and sensor :D

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

thanks for the details! So i went to unplug the right side and noticed the plug was not fully seated, so that will surely cause issues! So now i cleaned the plug, put it back together and cleared the fault codes. will try to go for a run tonight to see if the 4 amigos reappear.

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

Thanks the hub on the other side is only a couple of months old so that is why im surprised there is a difference. The hubs in the rear are a few years old and they are the same as the new one. I think i will need to do some investigating. Also ordered a slabs ecu they are cheap enough 😅
