    Useless sales people!!! Fuc**n plonkers

As long as it's not only me pulling my hair out! What's the world coming to eh? Anyway, found one that I've now bought, collecting in a couple of weeks when it's been prepped, serviced, few bits done etc. I was on the way there when the dealer from North Wales called and asked if I was still...

    Useless sales people!!! Fuc**n plonkers

Yep, I've heard good reports about Duckworths too, through Alive tuning, they seem like nice honest people to deal with. To be honest I'm not after a nearly new or new 90, just a low mileage Td5 if I can find one, main dealers seem to have anything upto about 2 years old. I had a great...

    Useless sales people!!! Fuc**n plonkers

I did go to Peterborough - the next day, same story, the salesman didn't know his arse from his elbow and the girl on reception was still rude! Plus the car I went to see was a bag of sh*t. Waste of time, That's why I try to get some info over the phone and pictures first. It must take at least...

    Useless sales people!!! Fuc**n plonkers

I'm trying to buy a new Defender 90, i've rang round and it seems as though the salesman are in charge, they hold all the cards and if your lucky they might call you back, answer questions or even SELL you something! I'm sick and tired of looking now, I've called a well known seller in...

    quote for a spray job

I've been quoted way more than that to do a full inside and outside spray job, to change the complete colour with a strip down is between 3500 and 5000. Sounds good as long as the quality is good too.

Tow Bar to Tow Step ??

Yep, they bolt through the cross member but there are some 'support arms' too that bolt to the chassis.... http://www.extreme4x4.co.uk/acatalog/LRM_instruct_Rear%20Step%20and%20Tow%20Bracket.pdf I think I'll do the same and just tidy mine up and paint it. Cheers

Tow Bar to Tow Step ??

Suppose I could take it all off, have it shot blasted, spray it then put it back again, probably be easier to just put a new one on for £140 though !!

Tow Bar to Tow Step ??

Thanks suew, makes sense, I don't tow much, maybe half a dozen times a year, but I do used 2 different trailers, it's just that everything else has been tidied up ... the tow bar always makes the rear end look old!!

Tow Bar to Tow Step ??

I've got a Dixon Bate type adjustable tow bar fitted (first pic) and want to fit a Tow Step type (second pic) Is it an easy swap over job? Will the electrics I have fit the new step?? Cheers

    Td5 or 300tdi - yes I know it's been covered before

Sounds good, easy enough things to do i guess, I think I'd rather have a nice rebuilt 300 that looks the part than an older Td5 to be honest. Just personal choice. I'll keep my eye out for a nice one. cheers

    Td5 or 300tdi - yes I know it's been covered before

No, I only tend to thank decent people. Sorry. And by the way, a CAD means... an ill-bred man, especially one who behaves in a dishonorable or irresponsible way toward women.... nuff said!!

    Td5 or 300tdi - yes I know it's been covered before

Thanks for the sensible replies. I think a 300 might be up my street because I love working on things myself. Simple as that, but how simple is it to get 140-150 bhp or improve the torque without serious tuning? Also, there are many threads saying the Td5 will give better mpg? Is that true?

    Td5 or 300tdi - yes I know it's been covered before

I'm looking to sell my 2005 Td5 because it's a finished project and I fancy a change. I've seen reports saying the Td5 is full of electrics and problems, I've seen a couple of lovely rebuilt 300's, I don't exactly drive fast, but like something smooth and reliable, so.... how much slower is a...

    TD5 Hard Top

My Defender on Ebay.... It's honestly in great condition, only selling due to looking for a new project after this one is now complete. I'm after another Defender 90 Hard Top to replace this one, preferably a Td5 or newer, low miles, straight, let me know if you have something of interest...

320 miles on a full tank!? 1999 Deisel TD5 defender. Thats not good.

I've worked out the average for my Td5 90 over the last 4500 miles, works out to be 27.2 mpg - on std gearing, but I have had a mild tune to help the mid-range etc. It normally takes about £70 to fill up from being in the red, so about 50 Litres, plus whats left 'in the red' so I guess the tank...
