    EP80w-90 in a P38 Auto box

I think it's pointing to me having put it together wrong. I'm thinking the forks may not be engaged in the gear that gets pulled properly. When first fit, I engaged low and heard it clunk into low but then it seems to move back and forward freely but doesn't pull the gears. My thoughts are that...

    EP80w-90 in a P38 Auto box

Could I have put the transfer box together without the pinion that pulls the gears across properly engaged? So the rod turns but it isn't pulling the gears across?

OK, so the motor is turning. The shaft turns freely with the motor off. But it still won't clonk into high. ??

No, the transfer box is in Low. It remains in low whichever side of the H gate the lever is. The thing beeps 5 times, indicates that it's in High or Low but the transfer box itself stays in Low.

    EP80w-90 in a P38 Auto box

I'm thinking the motor thinks it's in high but the box is in low. So if I switch the motor to low whilst off the box I can refit and the two will both be singing each other's sweet songs?

Oh. Please explain? If I take the motor off, select low, refit it, then test?

P38 Transfer box stuck in Low

Hi All. I've rebuilt my transfer box and took out for a test. I can gear the high low selector motor whirring but the box is stuck in low. Is it possible to put the box back together but have the 'twisty-turny bar' that pulls/pushes the gears from high to low unseated? Look forward to hearing...

    EP80w-90 in a P38 Auto box

Thanks guys. Next problem... I've fitted a new chain to the transfer box but now it is stuck in neutral. The motor works and is whirring away. Have I put it back together wrong? The shaft that spins to push and pull the gears... can that become unseated?
