    Best Green Paint

Do you mean for a roughish/easy job? I've used Rustoleum 2X aerosols on a few things. There was an orange that matched my 72 VW really well, and I recently painted my Disco bonnet with Hunter Green. They're cheap per can ( here in NZ anyway, NZ$13), cover well (1 can did the bonnet and a few...

    2.5 Na diesel high RPM

Is it eating it's own oil through the breather system? Does it have heaps of blowby from being worn out? - if it's runs away, it can destroy itself! If it's running on it's own oil, none of the speed control mechanisms apply and it will just rev to whatever it can get too, which may be well...

    Rust in peace

"Don't lowball me. I know what I got!" "It ran when parked. Just needs a battery." "I'm going to restore it."

Dried out grey and crispy wheel arches ?

Well. I have contacts... I was a Wurth rep, pushing 20 years ago (I'm getting old!) and my brother in law still is one here in NZ... so I can get "special" pricing. But it does go a long way! It works well on plenty of stuff. Even shoes - it lasted a few years on :D

I would just like to say

Wot? No pictures? I cut my thumb through to the tendon one day, fitting a towbar. Of course I had to finish the install before I drove in to get it looked at ;) I did the sensible thing though. Tied a rag around it and wrapped it in insulation tape o_O I can post a piccie :D

    3.9 Help needed

Is the Fuel pressure regulator poked and leaking fuel from the rail, into the vacuum hose; effectlively choking the engine? There should be ZERO fuel in the vacuum hose (from the reg, to the back of the manifold).

Disco 1 Stud Size, Ex. Manifold to Y pipe?

Good Grief... So only cat models have metric there? Which is weird considering cat/catless models were sold at the same times, for different markets :D Miine doesn't have cats now, but clearly used to - It's Jap spec anyway. Thanks for the info!

Disco 1 Stud Size, Ex. Manifold to Y pipe?

Thanks... Yeah... I had to go home to measure them... turns out they're M8x 1.25!... yet several suppliers say they're UNF and have the same part number. I guess either will work... with enough force the thread and diameter aren't too different :D Still... got it together and it doesn't sound...

Disco 1 Stud Size, Ex. Manifold to Y pipe?

Argh. Imperial doesn't fit my brain. 1997 Disco 1 3.9 V8: Are the studs in the cast exhaust manifold outlet, to the Y pipe, Metric or Imperial? Searching suggests they are 5/16" UNF. My nuts [:p] are fairly poked, but look more like the UNC tap I have. Are they in fact metric? I want to buy...

    Hello from NZ

I've been hanging out here for a couple of weeks, but actually have a Landy now! 1997 Discovery 3.9 V8i Automatic. It's a bit rough around the edges, but was really cheap. With Fuel prices climbing every day, it seemed like the perfect time to get a gas guzzling V8 :D I'm based in the north of NZ

    G'day folks

Yeah... the paint looks a bit rough :) Might have to Camo it :D I suspect it would be a very big money hole... but it would still be cheaper than buying a landcruiser! Plus I'll still be able to say I've never owned a Toyota :p It will only ever be a play thing, if it happens.

    G'day folks

Hi Seems nice to me so far ;) Just getting a feel for the place. I don't have a Landy yet, but might be able to wrangle the Disco in my avatar... but without the arse in the window. 97 V8i that needs the exhaust manifold sorted out
