Freelander on classic or limited insurance?

Hi guys, thanks for the ideas I will look into it. Some how even with 5 years NCB it always seems to cost me a fortune to insure a car! I will report back

Freelander on classic or limited insurance?

Hi guys, The other half has now got her new car and I have another car meaning the Freelander is now a spare vehicle. I want to keep it for general use (not befitting of my clean new car that work people have to see!) like lugging around rubbish etc That means I now need to insure it and want...

    tailgate window

Well it was worth a try, I used an aftermarket regulator recently and it's ok but does as you describe. Luckily I managed to drop the windows slightly and it works ok now. Maybe get a cable kit and have a go with better cables? I must say that the freelander often comes up with niggles but in...

Rover 75 bmw engine to Freelander 1 td4

I have tried injectors with a different part number from a 75, I think the majority end with 030 and the Freelander uses a number ending 049 (off the top of my head!) and the engine ran but I felt it lost a small amount of power. Maybe the could be reconfigured for the particular engine if you...

    tailgate window

You could try physically locating the window lower in the clamps, may give you just enough clearance. Obviously recalibrate before and after.

    Propshaft Bearings

Last ones I used were 'all makes' lasted about 1.5 years but the rubber bits are about the correct level of rubber unlike some which are much to hard or soft. To be honest they haven't failed badly just changing as slightly noisy and have prop off anyway

What have you done to your Freelander today

Exactly what I want to do, where did you source the materials? Cheers

Rover 75 bmw engine to Freelander 1 td4

In theory lots of bits can be used, same basic engine but some times items that will fit may have slight differences, e.g the injectors on the 75 generally have a different part number but some do use the same injectors.

15 inch wheels with bigger tyres pic request

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. Looks like 215/80/15 will do the trick nicely. NoDosh yours looks good on those tyres. Size looks a bit more landrover, if you know what I mean. Cheers all :)

15 inch wheels with bigger tyres pic request

Hi chaps, thanks for the responses - I'm looking for fun not road tyres ;) but in all seriousness I always go for AT tyres and they serve me well. Never ventured all the way to MT territory but I think the road noise would put me off!

15 inch wheels with bigger tyres pic request

Hi guys, Approaching the need for new tyres and want to put bigger tyres on but keep the same 15 inch wheels. Now I'm sure some of you guys have done this and can provide entertaining and educational pictures to help me choose :) I'm ok with the type and make but would love assistance with...

    VERY URGENT: help needed

I don't believe that the hole should leak, mine doesn't. Likely that some one screwed to long a bolt in at some point and put a hole in the rocker cover. Sure you can seal it easily enough as others have said. :)

    in line thermostat mod td4

Guys I did this about 3 years ago and have had no problems. The fans almost never come on and the engine still runs just below the 12 o'clock. I went for an 84-86 I believe but can't see the harm in an 88 or even a cooler 82. Coolant temp only ever in mid to high 90's at the highest. The one...

best clutch kit? borg % beck or LUK?

Agreed use anything other than B&b, The ones I have had recently had been produced years ago and had absorbed moisture rendering them useless. Whilst the system can be bled it's really designed to not be and a good kit should not need it. Get both parts master and slave :)

    td4 hydraulics

As I advised it does seem to be the best way but it can take time, it took weeks to get mine correct. Basically a bleed like that every weekend for a few should see it sorted. I did it 3 times over 3 weeks. Crap design!

    td4 hydraulics

Try bleeding by pumping 10 times then letting out only the tiniest spert. Repeat about 5 times. Basically the only way to get the air out

    New Tyres

Not sure I agree with that and most auto Mags and manufactures say that in fact it's better to have a winter tyre all year than use a summer tyre in the snow and ice. Of course it's better to have a tyre that matches the season if you have the luxury
