    DSE Autobox cooler pipes

The small cutter is Likely the only way you will save the old rad! Even if you undo the old pipes the thread will be stripped and not reusable. Brit part pipes from island have worked fine for me. Not the easiest of jobs it not the hardest. Be prepared to have to get a new cooler if required...

    What to do........??

I have both, well a 2.5 p38, love them both but the p38 needs so much more maintenance- so much more! Not that it's unreliable its just so much more car! That said you have to experience it so give it a go - just buy a good one and be ready for 16mpg :)

    3 amigos.!

If its 2005 you can rule out reculator rings as the senders use the wheel bearing on later cars. Check that you break lights come on

Wrong or cheap sensor? Regulator ring missing is an early car?

    td4 thermostat mod

Did you bleed it? Middle right top of engine bay, two heater hoses one has a bleed plug. Warm up, bleed, repeat, too up etc.

    Drop Links

Worth checking if you think it's out but don't get conned. James is talking about the track rod not the drop links :)

    Drop Links

No, If you just do the drop links the tracking will not be changed.

    I bought a 1.8 and i couldn't be happier.

Get out of it! I like a transit as much as the next man but try taking it off road or stopping it from ending up like a rust poo pile ;)

    Whooops, I do it again...

I guess there is a point of no return. Did mine again today and it's still working well. When I first did it it must not have worked at all as the car was very flat. Get a bigger turbo ;)

    Whooops, I do it again...

Some times this can be saved by actuating it by hand for a few days in a row. I do mine twice a year, or just when ever I am under the car in the right area and it's always good now. I normal hook a rig spanner over the rod and work it fully about 50 times. Worth a shot if it's just coked up

    castrol gtx

I will throw my hat in the ring here and say that I honestly doubt it would hurt the car for 10k miles before you change it again. I have some 5w30 to go in my td4 this week, always used 5w30 semi, never been to fussed with the specific spec as long as it was a modern oil. 177k so far...

How to identify a GKN prop shaft bearing?

Agree with this, Brit part ones I have had are almost solid where as better aftermarket and GKN are much softer

    clutch sticking

For td4 I would start by checking that there is no leaks then check you have fluid in the master -the small black tub near the top left of the engine bay. If there is fluid in there then you can bleed the system on a td4. I find it best to have one persons pump the clutch about 10 times the...

    clutch sticking

What model? Common fault on 1.8 is damaged bracket where MC mounts. Td4 could need bleeding but could be something failed, check for leaks in all cases

    Coolant loss culprit....

Also No need for them to be so tight that they crush the hose, common mistake with jubilee clips I would say

Freelander on classic or limited insurance?

Ok chaps the freeby is back on the road. Managed to get a really good deal on a 3k miles policy for only £230 ish. That will do me but it was painful to find! If anyone is interested it's a company called academy. Thanks for all the help chaps! Now to put the prop back on and have some fun /...

New clutch but still won't work :(

I would agreed that the b&b slave is rubbish. I also suffer from this after a recent replacement. I bleed it every few months which does the job but out of interest how are people extending the masters rod?

Freelander on classic or limited insurance?

Jedi, you could be on to something there I do live quite central. I have had so absolutely ridiculous quotes today and 1 half decent one at £295 for the year. I may go with that but honestly thought I would be able to get it down closer to £200. It's daylight robbery for a FL that will like be...
