Freelander 1 Rear brake nipples and bleed

it seems to me that you have some work on your hands, don't try to bleed the brakes by just undoing the main pipe, all that will happen is that you will get more air in the system. If you have tried to bleed from the main pipe, then don't do it by gravity but by opening pipe, pumping brake...

Gearbox oil leak ? Or not

I'd say a new oil seal is the way forward, they normally wear and the additive won't solve that.

    seating thigh support

Hej Love my freelander 2 SD but the one grumble I have is the lack of thigh support doesn't help on long journeys. The seat I have has manual adjustment with only a lever that that controls up and down tilting and the under seat forwards and backwards movement. The question is is there a seat...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Automatic gearbox anomaly

Have you tried using the gears to slow down, is it the brakes getting hot and locking on for a second. Otherwise I have read that it is advisable to renew the gearbox oil more frequently than the recommended 150k miles. Saying that I had my 2010/11 for the past 18 months with no problems and...

Freelander 1 How to replace the rear diff drive shaft seal?

It was just that when I did mine I couldn't get the bolts out on the first try, like guineafowl21 said they were rtb so had to wait for new bolts and washers and nuts to come, eventually had to cut them out, press out the bushes and replace them.

Freelander 1 How to replace the rear diff drive shaft seal?

did this myself a few months ago, no real problems, just make sure you get new bolts/nuts for the suspension arm, it is necessary to remove it to get to oil seal, as a matter of interest I didn't have to remove the hub, just removed bolts on suspension arms and swung it out of the way, the top...

Hej, been trying to sort out a fault on the ride height sensor on my F2 SD 2010, the gap OBD11 was telling me something wrong with earth on height sensor. that sinking feeling :-)

Have a freelander 2 2010 and the seat keeps on dropping, It's a manual operated seat action with a little lever you pump to raise the height. If I have it on the highest point it will drop over a couple of hours to its lowest point. Are there any fixes for this, something I need to tighten...

    RR Sport EPB

live in the north of sweden, hardly ever use handbrake because of danger of it freezing solid, but it is a good idea to use once in a while to stop mechanism rusting up. He will be okay leaving it in park just use it when parking on an incline

Freelander 2 (LR2) New tie rod ends required? (Pics)

you need to jack the wheel up, then put a crowbar by the joint, try to move the joint, if the joint moves, even slightly they are knackered.

    Fl 2 Manual or auto?

I use the freelander (auto) to haul hay bales out of the field which has a long steep slope on it, trailer is 150kg, 8 bales of hay at 60kg each and it handles it without even flinching, not quite 1000kg but the ease that it handles it I would think 1000kg is easily with in its limits.

    Heated Seats Retrofit help

If anyone you know has a OBD11 reader they should be able to change it, I have a Gap OBD11 tool BT2 does everything but expensive, a great addition to the tool box. I have read on here that a dealers would charge around £50 for plugging in a OBD11 but as it is a 1600kilometer round trip to the...

2013 Freelander II TD4XS Nail / Bolt in Tyre

If you can get to a Halfords or some other such shop buy a tire plug repair kit, take bolt out, plug leak, but that is dependant on you having a pump to re-inflate the tyre. But I'm with Marjon :- use the spare.

150k service looming in the horizon

Hej all you wonderful people, As the title suggests big service coming up on my 2010 freelander 2, been quoted over 500 pounds for just changing oil and filters in gearbox and the transfer box can't remember the abbreviation. Couple of questions, is there a cheap pump you get hold of to do...
