    Freelander 2 (LR2) Oil leak

Well on my 2011 sd4 it would probably be the big pipe (from the turbo? anyway a big plastic pipe) in the front that goes down the front of the engine, the jubilee clips don't always seal the pipe properly so take off the pipe clean it up, make sure it isn't damage, it can split, put back with...

okay will try to answer all comments , which by the way are gratefully received. Oil change in vcu but didn't do the filter, will do that asap, also done a change of oil in the diff which looked okay. It is -5c at the moment and don't have a garage to do it in at the moment because of covid...

not a thread asking whose Freelander does what mpg but still a question about mpg

To all you wonderful gurus out there. Okay have a 2010/11 F2 SD4, 174000 kilometers on the clock. When I first got it it would do 6.5/6.9 Lt to the 100 kilometers this has now crept up over the past 2 yrs to 8.8/8.9. so about 25mpg. I generally use it to drive into town a distance of 15...

    Freelander 1 Pre-facelift FL1 - Osram Nightbreaker or Philips X-treme?

bulbs are different according to spec, you can buy different spec Osram Night breakers according to your spec. Don't buy the wrong ones they can mess up your system.

    Fuel leak '04' TD4

would have thought that if you nipped down to you're local autocrats shop they would have a piece of pipe suitable for the job already bent.Or do as Nodge suggests, (just read his reply as I posted mine)

    Freelander 2 (LR2) HALDEX WOES !!!

an unfortunate common problem, landrover list the haldex as a "for life" component and thus it doesn't come up on service lists, but in my relatively few years of owning my own f2 I have realised that the simple task of changing the filter and oil on a regular basis can save a load of grief...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Removing the Swirl Flaps - What's best?

May i ask a question for future reference, at what sort of milage is this fault occurring, and how can you tell if the flaps are deteriorating part from stripping the manifold down (if there is a way)?

Freelander 2 (LR2) Just how bad is my rear diff?

first thing to do is to give that a good cleaning, then you might be able to see where the oil leak is from, or check via the filler plugs which one is shy of oil, get a power washer on it clean it up, I can't really tell but it looks as if it is the left seal on the diff drive shaft, but then...

    Classic Fuel pump relay question

absolutely a weak battery may cause the relay to function improperly, and I haven't destroyed a filter yet, come close with the oil filters (well the casing) but not a fuel filter.

    B100A-15 code

Just done the 10 yr service on the old girl, well old might be exaggeration, she comes into her teens in December, anyways did the timing, auxiliary belts, new pulleys, tensioners, water pump, general service, came to start her up, won't start click click , put the gap tool on to her the dreaded...

Should I change my Auto gearbox oil?

the simple answer is yes, if you read through the posts on here you will find that not many agree with the advise from Land Rover that the box is "sealed for life" I did a partial oil replacement last year (ie drained and refilled) and will do that every year from now on. It is also a good idea...

    Rear suspension

Advisable to do both at the same time but saying that did one damper last year, have the second one still to do, but shortage of time and procrastination have cause a delay, car drives with no problems. Like Nodge says get same type of damper both times.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) spring compressors..

I would bother with long spring compressor, the idea of a spring compressor is to take up the tension in a spring so it doesn't fly off and catch you in the nuts as Paul99 so eloquently put it or your face which is more of the norm. so long as you compress the spring at the most an inch (you...

Freelander 1 Will these cars ever become an appreciating classic?

One way to change that, buy a field, then buy all the cheap freelanders you can, rarity always drives the price up :):D:):):D
