    Spare tools for work?

okay, misunderstanding on my part, bitter is a strong word, we are cool. Living in Sweden for the last 25 yrs not so use to conversing in English so much. To embark in friendly banter then use a word such as bitter in such banter I took it literally, my mistake. We are good.

gap IID tool, auto fold mirrors, tow bar fitted. Motor warmer

yep, exactly, can hit -40c here and a meter of snow, already have 10 cm on the ground now and it will stay until May. Temperature can go above freezing which then melts the snow all over the mirrors then freezes solid, and high chance of burning out motors.

    oil leak/mist

"Do you mean the dip stick?" nope it is to the left of the dipstick, large flattish tube about 3" x 1.5", looks similar to the air intake tube that runs from the airfilter. Its dark now but I'll take a photo tomorrow

    oil leak/mist

Put a Calix engine heater on the car today and noticed that there was a fair bit of oil residue on the front of the engine on what looks like a breather tube coming down the outside. Anybody got any ideas on what it is.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Spent all day fitting a Calix engine warmer, not the easiest task I've done, but it is done now. It was a really tight fitting the pipes but got there in the end. And a bit scary having to drill 2 x 25mm holes in to my pride and joy but I'm sure I'll appreciate getting into a warm car on these...

gap IID tool, auto fold mirrors, tow bar fitted. Motor warmer

Just thought I'd do an update on the few jobs that I have done to my Freelander, got my gap IIDTool BT from Island 4x4 and was able to turn off the auto fold rear view mirrors, a necessary evil when living up here in the north of Sweden. Fitted a Witter tow bar which went quite smoothly apart...

hej, Johansn, Have a Freelander 2 in ipanema Sand colour myself, and your right it is an unusual colour, the dealer here in Sweden I brought mine from didn't even have it in their data bank to print out the right sales document . freelander 2, wing mirrors, hawkeye

okay thanks, think it is daft that they don't give the option to disable this within the vehicle, they must know that these vehicles are going to land up (excuse the poor pun) in some very cold places. Awaiting a reply from Gap to see if their diagnostics will disable it for me then I'll have a...

    freelander 2, wing mirrors, hawkeye

Hej, finally picked up the freelander 2, a nice SD2, with 110,000 k on the clock. Love it. But here is the question, due to the sever winters we get up here -35c and a meter of snow I want to disable the power fold on the wing mirrors. I have a hawkeye for the now defunct disco 2, If I get...
