Main Dealer or Independent (still under warranty)

Tricky one..... Key is understanding what will impact the warranty. I am sure it will come down to suitably skilled and experienced folk servicing it rather than it HAVING to be serviced at that specific garage. I would have a go at the independent first as well. I would be amazed if you got...

    MOT Advisories?

Brake pipe is pennies but VERY fiddly to do, I would assume they need replacing on both sides, when my Defender had the same about 10 years ago it was £350 from a local garage to replace the lot. Not sure on Prop shaft, if thats just a UJ it will an hour and £20 but I am 20 years older do it...

300 TDI snapped fan belt - help/advice needed

Should all be fine, you would have seen the temp rise surely, I had fan belt go in tunnels in Switzerland and couldn't see the temp as it was so dark and dash lights so sh1t, first I knew was radiator top blew which you should see steam coming from under the bonnet before too much damage is done...

    Bulkhead alignment issues.

I cant understand why the tub or bulkhead height have much to do with it if its too far backwards. How much are we talking at the top ?

    Bulkhead alignment issues.

Any chance of a pic, it sounds like you may be saying its leaning forward at the top by the roof ? That's the only place I can think it would be able to move any on its own ? What's moving when you remove the straps ? Is it galvanised ? could it have warped ? did you compare it to your old one ?

    110 Project

Looks good, love the rear door.... freaky gear stick knobs :), afraid it will never legally be tax exempt. To be registered as heritage it needs to be original, the engine swap will be in breach of that. https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles Although re-reading that I may be talking utter...

    Potential problems scrap or fix

So many questions and so little information ? Who gave you the quote ? What did they say ? They clearly looked at it more than anyone here has and know more than you do. What is the voltage on the battery ? Can you charge it ? clearly a battery charged will start easier than a battery flat...

    My intro

Welcome Tom, Hope you enjoy the forum, I am just north of you in Cheshire.. Love the Lightweights, I didn't realise they were also called airportable. We went on LandyRally with a chap and his dad who were driving one 3000 miles in 9 or so days. I loved the mentality as he said it was designed...
