Thanks for reply- pretty certain I have the earlier system as have no remote or immobiliser and 4 wire actuator. What’s odd is the fuse blows even when I’m testing the wiring- I’ve bypassed the kit and just tried a live/earth feed connected for a “blip” to the pink/orange wires and it blows...

Little bits getting done now, fixed bonnet release which hadn’t worked since last year and painted grille and headlamp surrounds. Makes front end a lot better.

MOT passed! All advisories cleared too apart from the underseal. Even polished it... Now I just need everything to return to “normal” so I can drive it properly!

New boots- 235/70r16s all round, which fill arches much better. Going back for retest Monday...

New exhaust on, nice and shiny! While I was under there I slapped a load of under seal on the chassis and floor- only intended to do a bit but ended up using the whole tin!

New track rod fitted, new ball joints on drop link done too. The torque setting didn’t seem very high (40nm), but that’s what Haynes said. Only problem was the nuts holding the steering damper to the track rod were seized solid (think someone had put threadlock on them too), and the flats...
