What have you done to your Freelander today

It didn't happen if we don't see the photos. ;) Links to the stl files would be nice too. :)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Last time I worked on a prop shaft I had to use a sledge hammer on the chisel as the gentle tapping shown in the video had zero effect. I needed a new bolt too but the most important thing is the shape of the chisel.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Over here they would fail it for a bad tyre but I've never heard of them failing a car because of a belt. I don't think it's even on their list of things to look at.

    Freelander 1 Interior Trim Removal

Take the top off the steering column (three screws from below) then take out the 6 screws as shown and when it's out you'll see how to take off the painted bits. I sprayed mine satin black as they were a bit scratched and the result was great.

    Over(free)landing

I think GG is referring to a 2nd spare tyre which given the miles you'll be doing makes sense. As the others have said looking awesome! :D Have a great trip.

What have you done to your Freelander today

F1 Freelanders are very well proportioned beside stupid looking fat modern SUV's. Every time I park mine in a carpark I glance back with a little pride while walking away.

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Yes mate, paddles might be a project when I run out of other things to do. With my levels of procrastination ever increasing I'm not sure when that will happen. 🤣

    Freelander 1 Sump guard

I wouldn't fuss too much about the type of bolts or corrosion. Unless your a sucker kinda guy you'll be removing at least once per year for servicing anyway.

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Nice find mate, they look like fun. My MG gives around 100kW on full regen and maybe even more with the brake but I'm trying to be sensible and start out with a bit less with this setup. However as I have the attention span of a nat, I've flip flopped back to the charging issues and have built...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Very in Very interesting. I haven't had a chance to look at this yet but my car is controlled by Open Source hardware and software. In fact the VCU is basically just an Arduino Due with some additional components to control 12V outputs and inputs. ;)

Freelander 1 Rapid tyre and brake wear

Don't muck about with crusty old calipers on the front. These things cost less than a tank of diesel. Ebay linky https://ebay.us/lfAHAj

    Worth new clutch

Older cars cost more to maintain but virtually zero on depreciation so in the end they are much cheaper to own. Sometimes (not always. ;)) it's better to stick with the car you know than to buy something totally unknown.

I think he mentioned he sells or designs or maintains (or maybe all three) machinery for balancing drive shafts and prop shafts.

Buying a Freelander 1 with propshaft removed

If you did inform them you would probably be the only one. 1. You would need to be aware it should be 4WD. 2. You would need to know that to be 4WD it would need to have a propshaft. 3. You would need to know what a propshaft looked like. 4. You would need to know it was missing. The...

Buying a Freelander 1 with propshaft removed

From what I've heard from MOT inspectors and used car dealers, the majority of Freelander 1's in the UK do not have the propshaft so it's not a big deal with them any more. The most common reason for it being missing is the previous owner or the dealer didn't want to pay for the maintenance of...

    Clutch pedal

It's a very entertaining channel where two Germans make fun of just about everyone, especially themselves. They started by documenting the maintenance and repairs of their Disco's and now buy broken Disco's to repair. The latest is a Disco 4 with a melted piston caused by neglect and no oil.
