Cheap fix then… Glad it’s all sorted

Put a jump lead earth direct to the starter. Try that. Some times the solinoid does not fully engage & give full load . These can be stripped down or replaced. Starter motor. Are you using a series box with an adapter plate? Are you using a v8 flywheel

Horn should not be on a relay.

Could you have a faulty earth then? As on the bench both cables would be directly on the starter.

Theres no chance of that dog getting through them gaps ;)

Have you got any landrover shops near you that you can walk into & check part numbers ? Had a Quick Look & nothing found. (Only the rally car kits) What part of the country are you?

B918 vas 1985 v8 petrol

Get a V8 110 of an 85 landrover.(if you need a reg number to order I can give you mine) . same shape as the facet(barrel type) and a lot cheaper. Mounted mine in the engine bay by the brake servo. I do forget to turn it on some days & it still runs. Yep they are a bit noisy

Look on fleabay. Are yours the same size as the LR standard bracket?

How about putting board on top of the seats ?(either on the seat part or back rest) Put a few uprights to support this. Make it so it folds in the middle or in 2 pieces (then You could slide it onto the floor for storage)

Put the boards on top. Less stress on the metal work. If you done the angle iron method bet you would catch your legs on them unless you remove these after use.

Right angled adapter on driller but was tight. May have taken the wing off to make life easier. Hardest is the inside/near engine Done this on 2.5 in a S1 Been years since I done this though

I drilled straight through & nut & bolt to secure. Think I used brass nuts
