Classic Classic wiring and leccy japes-a-plenty

Okay, all fixed in and turned the key......no spark. I traced the white wire back to a join and then it doubles back to a connector and then turns into a blue\white which goes to fuse C3. This is what the ignition switch connects to. So....could it be the ignition switch? What test is there for...

Thanks Pete. I just meant input as plug from coil and out to dizzy. Who knows for sure, I'm not sure it means much. I'm off to work on my lawnmower now.

Okay, in the meantime I did a few more tests from the manual. Before removing the dizzy I ran a test between bat positive and negative on the coil...shows 12v manual says it should be ..er.. zero. Removes dizzy and did pickup test and seems fine there. I don't know if this means anything, but...

Cool, thanks for that. I checked the timing twice and the best I got was a cough. Like I said, I'm suspecting one of the replacement parts as faulty. Any other tips would be good.

The plugs are damp and stink of petrol. I have fresh fuel in. I'm beginning to suspect the dizzy or a replacement part is faulty. Perhaps the pick-up? The ignition amp was the first part replaced. Is there an ohms test for the amplifier?

I got no spark at all. I tries sticking a plug in the lead and then earthing it on threads. I then ran a jump wire from the negative terminal and the plug would not spark. The only spare coil I have is a "09-220 12v BAllasted coil" Would this work on the EFI?

Okay so now we are back to non starting. I have 12v at positive coil with ignition on, but when cranking it drops to around 9v, should be okay, shouldn't it? I disconnected the lead from the coil at the distributor end and got no spark at all against the block. ?? Hmmph!

Can you identfiy wiper spindle please?

Hi, I had to fit a new wiper motor and fitted the rack that came with it, although it has a differe net spindly bit. My RR has the thin, pointy spindle and I need to know what this one is so I can order up new arms n blades.

    Air conditioning

Most of the time the V8 provides plenty of heat through the bulkhead.
