    Freelander 2 Bonnet stuck open

Is it connected at the catch end? The fact that the handle is also broken suggests that perhaps it is being pulled too hard - which could suggest that the cables have stretched over time (needing more movement on the latch). If you replace them, be sure to tie some strong string to the old one...

    Freelander 2 Bonnet stuck open

Check that the release handle has returned correctly in the passenger footwell (as in it’s not stuck ‘open’)

    1st time purchaser

It really depends what you want, but I think they sound a little expensive... maybe not if they are forecourt sales though, rather than private. Of course, it depends on the quality of them. Generally, the F1 is older but easier to work on. Check to see if it still has a prop fitted if you want...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Scrabbling after diff bearing change

Ah… still worth a phone call to Matt to discuss. Things may have changed. He’s a nice guy that will try to help. If you have a friend or family in the UK, perhaps they could help you… 😉

Freelander 2 (LR2) Scrabbling after diff bearing change

Even if not in UK, I’m pretty sure you could post it over to Matt for the fix. It’s only the ECM you need to send - so a 6” by 6” light box. Great service from the company - a few here have used them.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Scrabbling after diff bearing change

You know you can send away the Haldex ecm and have the ‘scrabble’ mod done, right? (Assuming gen4) Mine was scrabbling, had the mod, perfect now.

And pictures! A freelander on a road trip like that… we want pictures!

    Some diagnosis needed

So the working assumption is ‘drivetrain’ issue? I’d start with the obvious - any loose bearings / mounts on the prop or rear diff? If the CV joint was fubar, it would normally be noisy when making a full-lock turn left or right.
