    Potential newbie!

Check the back end… they can suffer from rust around the rear sub-frame.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Drivers door rocker switch has no effect on the rear tailgate as far as I know, just the rear door switches. Post edited to be clearer.

What have you done to your Freelander today

    Freelander 1 petrol fuel pump

Have you removed the pump for testing? I don't know, but I'm assuming you can somehow put 12v across it and get it to run (or not), but I'd only be playing with the potential dancing-pixie sparks well away from any petrol ;) If you use the search button in the top left, you'll find a link to...

Fairly common issues; Leaks / splits around boost hoses - check them all carefully for wear / rubbing. Manifold and egr get caked in carbon deposits. Worth spending the time cleaning them out at least (no cost!) @Arctic2 has some good pictures for this. The thermostat mod will fix the running...

The module does not need coding. Not so sure why you have an intermittent issue only showing during hot weather? Have you checked the wiring to the switch?

    Freelander 2 - lumpy

You don’t mention about your last service details - as Arctic says, if you’ve not changed the fuel filter in the last 2 years, I’d be doing that too. Make sure to use the correct filter, not a cheap copy!

What have you done to your Freelander today

'Tis the same on my blue F1... flaky on a couple of the rear doors. I still have a LR blue rattle can (forget the colour name) made up for it!
