What did you do with your Range Rover today

What I do with bus airbags is to put them in plac with the bus jacked up, use a tyre inflator to inflate the bag. It will soon take its right shape. the tyre inflator, giving about 90 psi inflates it in a few seconds. Or if you must fole them to shape first, it can be a pig of a job trying to...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

My "bargain basement" 4.4TDV8 has had a couple of days off, just a local shopping trip and a visit to the dentist today. Next thing to fix is the saloon heater valve unit, drivers side is still blowing cold, passenger side hot. Still rebuilding my bus engine, bus batteries were left to go flat...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I think my S reg P38 had a bottle jack, but my 52 reg L322 had the nasty scissors jack, as have the others that I've had. I do't have the physical strength to operate the scissors jack; last time I tried the thing started to give way. It's simply not fit for purpose on such a heavy car. Once...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Been using my "new" 60 reg TDV8 for the commute to work this week, night work, so traffic is light but the roadworks do as well! On Wednesday morning at about 0130 coming down the A249 from sittingbourne to the M20, police had closed the road to to a serious RTC. I diverted round some back lanes...

Rear brake overheating TDV8 4.4 Vogue

Yes I do use cruise control whenever I can. I've not noticed braking when using cruise control except going down hills. I do feel the engine reves dropping back gently to mintain speed. Popped out this evening on a local run and made some controlled harsh brake applications, that seemed to do...

    Oil Service Interval problem

Newer vehicles generally don't like short journeys, the Euro 6 kit doesn't work properly at low temperature, especially DPF filters. That's a big problem on Lonodn buses, they idel in traffic all day and the DPFs get blocked quite quickly.

    P38A The arrival of a P38

Google translate can be your friend sometimes. :) I'm currently rebuilding a 1952 AEC 9.6 litre bus engine. No oil reaching the top end, valve stems and guides has 3mm of play!! It's great fun and I'm amazed the engine ran at all, but it did and sounded lovely. I suspect your P38 has been used...

Rear brake overheating TDV8 4.4 Vogue

What did I do with my Range Rover yesterday? An evening out with my partner to Margate, car running ok, no noticeable lack of performance, got home after e nifty run along the 20/M20, got home and as I walked past the back of the car noticed the offside rear brake was rather warm", not glowing...

    L322 60 reg TDV8 heater problems

Heaters in 1960s cars? You having a laugh?? My 1948 P3 hd one come to think of it and a curtain that dropped down inside the back window. My Rover 2000 had a heater as well, all mod-cons. I'll look on youtube, cheers. Otherwise Ranco valves on 1960s buses.

    L322 60 reg TDV8 heater problems

So many variants, presumably i'll have to order by VIN number? My car is the "facelift" version on a 60 plate.

    L322 60 reg TDV8 heater problems

Thanks, do I have to remove the engine cover to try to find it? By right hand side, I presume you mean under the passenger side on a RHD car?

    L322 60 reg TDV8 heater problems

Any clue as to where it hides on the car? all i see under the bonnet is a mass of pipes, totally lost with modern vehicles!

    L322 60 reg TDV8 heater problems

Having recently had the oil cooler and thermostat and housing changed, I now find the passenger side heating works as it should; the driver's side heating is hit and miss. I initially mentioned this in another post as just the driver's side footwell heater not working, but this is an...

    L322 4.4tdv8 change oil cooler

I took the easier but dearer way out and let a local garage do the job. They also replaced the thermostat and housing. The other isse was an O ring inside one of the plastic adaptors in the "octopus" pipes, not available separatelt, the whole assembly was in excess of £500. I found a right size...
