Well. Mirrors done, works pretty well and I can remove the extension pieces when I get to the show

Having to extend my truck mirrors by 10" each side so as I can see around me caravan Which means making some temporary bracing bars :rolleyes:

Mornin Bit of a dull start Prepping caravan for weekend at Smallwood steam etc show Genni going in, need to get petrol, got two bottles of gas and two big batteries :) Weather not looking too good but I got boots and an umbrella :D Stay busy all :)

Well my arms are bruised and ripped but the starter motor has been changed 😎 Needed to remove the dashboard and steering column then loosen the brake master cylinder to gain acces to the bolt on the engine side. New starter a lot better and hopefully no more clicking starter when I need it most 😃

The exhaust brake on my old 77 DAF 2800 would lock the back wheels unit only in the wet Am I right in thinking a Jake brake shuts the exhaust valves ?

I recon it would be worth a try, not difficult it's just a butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe They were good on the old trucks depending, DAF were the best in the seventies with Merc the worst in my opinion

I didn't count the Land Rovers, had three Disco 1's a 110 a 90 and a Disco 2, had the 90 about 5 years also had a Mini which I raced and I had that tucked away for maybe 25 years. Tend to keep cars longer now I'm older or maybe the cars are better and last longer or maybe I don't get bored with...

Had a few as well but wish I'd kept the '52 Citroen 6 cylinder Traction avant, the Moskvitch and the 66 Austin Cooper The cars I kept the longest were a 2.2 diesel Renault 21, a diesel Pug 106 and an 05 Ford Ranger pickup All other vehicles were short term bangers

Did a bathroom in my old house, run pipes under floor, all soldered joints etc, It's still going strong 20 years later This isn't my property so I'll have to grin and bear it for the time being, I know what needs doing but all they talk about is budgets. I had to tidy up plastering in my hall...

Need a plumber as well to re fit cistern level and line it up with the bowl then maybe it will stop leaking, not hard is it ??

Evenin Joiner called today to look at fixing my creaking hinges and sawn off door. He had a look and decided that the door was ruined, he said he should be back as early as next week with another new door :(

Ha, it's leaking from the cistern outlet pipe and running down the outside of the pipe and onto the bowl. Something to do with the cistern not being in line with the bowl and the pipe being on an angle on two planes I would say. Cistern not level and not in line with the wall and toilet bowl...
