Galvanised side rails fitted with some stainless bolts, no rust to be seen here sir!

Vent flaps fitted with some stainless steel hindge pins / bolts from SP4x4. Plastered them in ceramic grease first and thread locked the tiny m4 dome nuts each side, there would be nothing worse than a loose flap now would there !

Lower dash cleaned, painted and the outside polished with black wax which to be honest transformed it. Just make sure you wear some latex gloves when your using this stuff.

Apologies for the lack of progress but after another trip on the motorbike to Ireland then a second trip to MedVac a fallen comrade I’m back in my first home (as the wife calls it)

Steering shaft cleaned painted with new UJs, throttle pedal blasted and painted and fitted with stainless fasteners.

Cant wait to get this landy finished if only to stop ordering parts …. I’m starting to worry that Simon the DPD driver is seeing more of my wife than I am …. 😂

New oil cooler hoses loosley fitted.

New one piece braided clutch pipe fitted and bled, I know its not the standard setup but some improvements are required. Plus I co@&ed up and scrapped the old pipes which would have cost £65 just to replace the top steel pipe then another £20 for the flexi hose and steel lower pipe. BRT...

Not that much to report really as I’ve been away over the weekend, but having got home this afternoon I couldn’t keep out of the garage. So handbrake shoes and drum fitted along with the new rear prop shaft and handbrake cable.

New fuel tank installed , fuel pipes clipped to chassis. Wiring looms re taped and installed

Both brake and clutch boxes rebuilt, brake lines made, fitted and bled.

Must have been the same supplier as my lines as I had to make three new ones as they were not the right lengths

Progress report……. Today I have been mostly cleanin the rust off pedal boxes…… then spraying them black….. oh an made a new brake pipe …… and havin a few beers…..

Do you recon lining up all the bolt heads is taking this restore a little too far? Theres OCD them there’s me 🤦‍♂️ oh well at least I can sleep tonight knowing they are all straight 😂

Big blue bit goes on ! Quick polish using Farecla liquid G3 compound on a pink polisher foam disk then mer ultimate polish on a black foam pad and its looking very shiney 😎 not bad for an electrician if I do say so myself.

Brake lines done, chassis loom repaired, re taped and pulled through the chassis, tripple taped the section that runs theough the chassis box dont want any more chafing now !

This evening progress report, gearbox oil replenishment (MTF 94), transfer box, front and rear axles full of your finest EP80w-90, front hubs filled with one shot or as it should be called no shot grease! Top tip after taking an hour to fill the first, turn the steering so the hub is pointing...

Just as predicted, progress is rapid ! Engine in, gearbox with heavy duty Valeo clutch, full stainless exhaust with no middle box. Rear struts fitted.
