Thanks chaps, I dont have the tools for that but local specialist has quoted for replacement gaters if the condition of the ball joints are unaffected and still in good condition or full replacement. most of the underside components are becoming renewed so it should be like the day it came out...

Ive just bought all the kit for an oil and filter change which Im looking forward to so hopefully that builds confidence to take on other jobs :)

I did look into doing it myself but pretty limited on DIY experience I figured brakes were not worth risking making a mistake with :confused:

Thanks for that, I suspected as much, the garage is more geared up for those who have just finished the main dealer approach (fancy waiting rooms etc). More reasonable quote where I've been many times before £275 and tend to specialise in older models :)

Hi Advice recently from a specialist was front ball joint gaiters were split, they suggest replacing the whole ball joint and upper/lower gaiters. 'If' the ball joint is not in a state can I just replace the gaiters or do you need to replace the whole lot, price is quite different i suspect...
