I know we all here have mental issues loving our old Landys, but...

I picked up a Zeus Series disc brake conversion kit last sunday for the 101. The guy had infected both of his daughters. One had a Series, the other a Defender. Poor girls. Both hopelessly beyond help! 😁

I know we all here have mental issues loving our old Landys, but...

No, because i'd never have bought i new Duffender in the first place. I'd just be happy with a proper one that only broke down within three miles from home once a year and only when the sun was shining but not too hot so you don't get too much of a sweat on walking home for help

I know we all here have mental issues loving our old Landys, but...

I can. The answer would be no! Not even for an immaculate Series 1 The sad thing is i don't think there is a cure for Justonemorelandy Syndrome 😔

    Fuel slosh?

If it's available, why bother? It carried a dye because it had less VAT on it, thus cheaper to buy than at the pump but only in particular applications. EG farm equipment, my mechanic cousin's workshop diesel heater, boats, gypo's vans. If you are paying the same per litre as at the pump, buy it...

Has anyone got any tips for bleeding 101 brakes?

UPDATE: More bleeding then adjusted the brakes and now have brakes. They can only be described as SHlT brakes, but it now does stop. YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now i've driven it for a few miles, visited a mate, parked on his new drive, was showing him what was in the various cubby holes...

Has anyone got any tips for bleeding 101 brakes?

Thanks for that. I clamped all three flexis and got a brilliant pedal! I have read a few people suggesting you need to open the apportioning valve to bleed the brakes. If you don't you are restricting fluid flow and any air in the system can sit there in the valve. So then i unclamped the rear...

Has anyone got any tips for bleeding 101 brakes?

Thanks, i've read this before. It was while i was still battling removing the brake drums and filing down the ends of brakes shoes to get the drum back over the new shoes prior to replacing various knackered brake pipes and the flexible pipes. I picked up a hand vacuum bleeding kit from the Land...

Has anyone got any tips for bleeding 101 brakes?

Thanks for your suggestions. My manual arrived today! It was dropped off after i'd exhausted my latest two litres of brake fluid. So no, my adjusters are not backed off, they are adjusted 'just' off like they'd be in general service. Backing them off makes no sense to me as that would mean more...

Has anyone got any tips for bleeding 101 brakes?

I've changed several brake pipes, plus all flexibles, new wheel cylinders, shoes. Then during phase 1 of bleeding the original master cylinder went poopy in it's pants so replaced it with a new one. Then during phase 2 of bleeding it too decided to go poopy in it's pants by sending the fluid the...

Is the 101 Forward Control Club & Register no more?

EMLRA is one of the half dozen online forums i've joined since buying the 101. I've been a member of the Series 2 Club for a few years. I don't think i've ever been on the forum. Just renew and read the magazine when it drops on the carpet.

Is the 101 Forward Control Club & Register no more?

Sadly i joined up after the magazine went out of print. As it's only £15 i'll let the subscription carry on and see what happens. www.101parts.co.uk Sadly, i'm well aquainted with Martin (buying far too many parts) 😁. I was up at Able yesterday collecting two swivel seals and an exchange master...

Is the 101 Forward Control Club & Register no more?

I messaged the Faceache page nearly two months ago asking what do i get for my subscription and have had no reply. No sign of a web page, so is it finished? It would be just my luck now i've finally got my wallet on my own 101 ambulance...

Series 3 Mobile phone holder suggestions

An internal rear view mirror would be of no use in a Landy that you can't see out of the back of, like my 101 ambulance for example. I'm pretty sure the only legal requirement is one on the driver's side. Ha ha, presses 'post reply', scrolls up and reads the post above... AND stands...
