What kit did you get? I've used my mates stuff to do steel brake lines and it was a pain to get a decent flare on them, he's a mechanic and has got very expensive kit. I do have a cheap brake flaring tool but it wouldn't hurt to get a good quality one

Lol I've been there and it's a pain in the arse. There is a bracket on the inside at the chassis that you may have missed and it tends to stop it from moving or coming out easily. I did end up cutting my tank with a grinder then jumping on it to get it out but completely removing that bracket...

13.6 sounds pretty normal. Have you traced the stereo wiring back? The wiring is fairly simple so it may be chaffed somewhere as all you're likely to have is a switched live, a permanent live and an earth along with your speaker cables

Unless it's ATF I wouldn't. That's what LR recommended for the motor so couldn't say the effect of another different oil on the pump and box

If it were me I'd stick with the TDI. They're going to be worth a lot more than the Puma ones in the future plus ease of maintenance would be a big thing.

Just a thought but bypass the sedimenter with some pipe connecting the fuel lines and see if your problem persists. Wouldn't hurt to rule that out. It does sound like air is getting in somewhere. Have you checked the pickup and return pipes on the tank? I've found before that they can rust and...

I'd stick with the lift pump otherwise you'd need to find some way of blanking that off as well as rigging it up to make sure that the 12v pump is set correctly. The lift pumps are simple, reliable and cheap so if you think its that that's causing the problem then just replace
