    Tail gate window cables, again!

Cables have broken on the tail-gate window on my 2006 FL 1 I've searched the forum, looked at the Youtube videos and the job looks doable :) Question, which is the best value regulator kit to buy? LR trade parts sell one for £37.95 on Ebay but you can get cheaper and more expensive. Is there...

    VCU support bearings

No problem with bearings, just the rubber mounts. I did ask and they could not come up with a reason for failure

    VCU support bearings

To complete this thread: The VCU and support bearings were purchased from Bell Engineering so I gave them a ring re the failing rubber bearing mounts. They agreed to fit at no cost and gave a small discount for new rubber mounts which I got done last week Thank you Bell Engineering for work...

    VCU support bearings

I have been getting a noise on my F L 1 facelift similar to the exhaust contacting the bodywork when turning sharp left and right. The weather is now a bit cooler so I had a crawl underneath, all exhaust mountings in good condition but but a lot of play in the VCU rubber mountings which I reckon...

    Air inlet duct retaining screws

A minor detail but I'd like to get it right. See photos of air inlet duct retaining screws; one is missing and the other is not doing a lot! I am interested to know what the original fitting looked like

    Didn't see the post!

Thanks for replies I'll fill the gouge with appropriate colour filler and see what it looks like. If it's a mess I'll replace with a used section which, hopefully, will be a match

OK I should have noticed but the post wasn't that high! Anyone have any idea how I can get rid of the deep scratch in the plastic moulding (see photo) other than get a replacement? Many thanks

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted Yuasa battery, 76Ah, CCA 680, form Battery Megastore - £64.50 Usual problem with clamp, see photo complete with corroded clamp screw. I removed battery by undoing the three battery box screws and lifted out with battery. I didn't know there was a third screw underneath the battery but...

    Bonnet release cable!!

Thanks for reply, the grommet is in a "impossible" position to get fingers or screwdriver to gradually work it in place. I'm wondering how others have done this job..................... or not bothered to fix this grommet in position:(

    Reversing Sensors

Removed rear bumper to try and find answer to similar problem to original post , reverse sensors not working. All connectors clean and no corrosion, see what happened when I removed one:oops:. Yes I should have pushed from the outside of the bumper!! It just clips back together and looks like...

    Bonnet release cable!!

Thanks all for replies I "cheated" but no one would notice;) Very good idea in Haynes manual to tie string to the "catch" end of the old cable before removing and then tie string to end of new cable to pull through to the catch ADVICE required: is there an easy way of inserting the grommet where...

    Clutch cost

Just been quoted £635 all in to replace clutch on 2006 td 4, so I said yes! Freelander has done 124,000 miles Is this a good, bad or average cost for the job? What are the chances that I will need a new flywheel as well?????????????
