This kit looks like the answer then, had a look to see how difficult to remove alternator and noticed oil inside on windings, cant find source of oil, but alternator is covered.

Update,left on charge till 9.30 this morning, it started no problem with no warning lights left on, even alternator light went out straight away. Just tested battery voltage at tick over, 12.50 volts so this points to a bad alternator, would the alternator drain the battery if it was not...
